We really felt like we were CSI / forensics whilst completing one multi cache on this circuit. This one was the first cache in which we used a UV torch (luckily ‘The Man’ had purchased one and bought it with him). We had forgotten to collect all of the necessary information for the final cache but with a bit of logic and mathematical skill, we worked out a feasible final coordinates. This meant a short drive and we arrived in the dark and had to use torchlight in the woods to find the final – great fun ..read more

This was a great little series to complete. We knew we needed a 2.5 metre pole with a hook on the end. The Man had bought his old, pike fishing rod adapted with a bent coat hanger attached. A lot of these caches were easier to grab than to replace. There was laughter, encouraging words and a lot swearing but we managed to get them all down and replaced ..read more

We didn’t complete all of this series as it was a very large circuit: We completed half of it then had to walk the whole way back! Anyway there were some great caches which are best displayed as photographs. We also both reached our 8,000th caches in this circuit. Me with the Pumpkin King and the Man with the chainsaw ..read more

With The Muggle Queen in attendance, we decided to tackle the caches in ‘The Lynford Stag’ forest area near Thetford, Norfolk. After parking up we headed to number one which was billed as ‘an easy one to start you off’, however, it took us ages to find, but once we were in the swing of things it was fairly plain sailing. There was a huge range of cache containers, some very creative indeed. We even attempted some special challenge caches, including the high tree climb undertaken by ‘The Man’ (whilst The Muggle Queen and I remained firmly on terra firma as the ground crew in an advisory capa ..read more

With The Muggle Queen in attendance, we headed up to Cambridgeshire to complete this interesting geo-art series. We completed the whole series in three separate, and elderly very enjoyable, walks. This was a very well maintained series and we found every cache. Each of the cache containers was dinosaur themed, who knew there were so many dinosaurs ..read more

We’d solved all the puzzles and had all the completed co-ordinates, so after setting off early we found each other and some suitable (free) parking. The walk was long (over ten miles) but very enjoyable as it circled all the way round Grafham Water and across a site of special scientific interest (featuring a 280 acre nature reserve which is home to ancient woodland, reed beds and is an important home for populations of birds and amphibians). We found all 71 caches in this series, including one which had several previous DNFs – this one required a long search by both of us, a blood sacrifice ..read more

I do love a mystery cache and if there’s a Jigdi involved, I’m all over it! So when the Sponge Bob series appeared I set about solving them. Once all 130 caches were solved, we took several visits to complete the whole 20 mile series (we even bought the Muggle Queen along with us on a couple of occasions). We even gained a themed badge for our profiles and some cool geo art on our maps ..read more

We managed to park very close to the first cache of the day (Car Trap) then we walked the 8 miles completing both the circuits on the same day. The route started along the road, then went across country. We managed to find all the caches including a few that previous had failed to find (which is always a bonus ..read more

We did this great circuit over a few days. The walk took us through farmland, open fields, woodland and country lanes and it consisted of 50 caches including three tree climbs which ‘The Man’ ascended no problem. We did have to go back to rectify a couple of DNFs but we managed to get several FTF in the process! We had some difficulty with a few of these caches as the co-ordinates appeared to be incorrect. We searched for one cache for ages before giving up and walking back, when I got lucky – I just happened to glance and spot what I thought looked suspiciously like a cache and it was. By us ..read more
