We really felt like we were CSI / forensics whilst completing one multi cache on this circuit. This one was the first cache in which we used a UV torch (luckily ‘The Man’ had purchased one and bought it with him). We had forgotten to collect all of the necessary information for the final cache but with a bit of logic and mathematical skill, we worked out a feasible final coordinates. This was a great little series to complete. We knew we needed a 2.5 metre pole with a hook on the end. The Man had bought his old, pike fishing rod adapted with a bent coat hanger attached. With The Muggle Queen in attendance, we decided to tackle the caches in ‘The Lynford Stag’ forest area near Thetford, Norfolk. After parking up we headed to number one which was billed as ‘an easy one to start you off’, however, it took us ages to find, but once we were in the swing of things it was fairly plain sailing. We’d solved all the puzzles and had all the completed co-ordinates, so after setting off early we found each other and some suitable (free) parking. The walk was long (over ten miles) but very enjoyable as it circled all the way round Grafham Water and across a site of special scientific interest (featuring a 280 acre nature reserve which is home to ancient woodland, reed beds and is an important home for populations of birds and amphibians). We did this great circuit over a few days. The walk took us through farmland, open fields, woodland and country lanes and it consisted of 50 caches including three tree climbs which ‘The Man’ ascended no problem. We did have to go back to rectify a couple of DNFs but we managed to get several FTF in the process! We had some difficulty with a few of these caches as the co-ordinates appeared to be incorrect.
