I visited Illinois this past week to see family and enjoy some St. Patrick’s Day festivities. While I was home, I had to take some photos of my mom’s pups, especially Diego. He will be 17 years old next month and definitely has some old-man tendencies. I’m not sure the next time I’ll be in town to see him, so when my mom asked to get some photos of him, I said absolutely. I had my dad bring his DSLR, which just so happens to be my old camera, home so I could get some shots of our sweet old man. Michael got a couple of shots in, as well, but the focus was definitely on Diego. Check out a few o ..read more

How fitting that my first session in 2024 is with a Dachshund! As a Dachshund owner myself, of course, I’ve got a big soft spot for them. Hannah’s sister actually got ahold of me to get a session voucher for her sister and her Dachshund, Jojo, as a gift! Jojo is 15 years old and has a beautiful, long, black-brown coat. He was quite sweet and very cooperative once we showed him that he gets some treats out of it. Otherwise, he got a nice little walk in the park and could smell all the amazing smells while I followed him around and made funny sounds to get him to look at me. He’s definitely a c ..read more

At the end of my sophomore year of high school, my dad finally relented and said we could get a puppy. He would prefer we get a dachshund, which was fine by me. I was ecstatic. Shortly after the blessing, however, my brother and I discovered we had wildly different preferences for the puppy we would get. He wanted a boy. I wanted a girl. He wanted smooth hair. I wanted longhaired. He wanted a standard color. I wanted something more unusual. This led to me researching and proposing to my parents that we get two puppies – one for each of us. They actually went for it, and I got to work scouring ..read more

I had the pleasure of spending a day with the delightful Macklin, an 11-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a heart full of joy and a spirit that defies his age. From the moment Macklin greeted me with those wise yet lively eyes, I knew our photography session would be something truly special. Don’t let his age fool you; Macklin is a testament to the saying, “Age is just a number.” With a burst of energy that would rival a puppy, Macklin gleefully embraced playtime. As a pet photographer in Austin, it’s sessions like these that remind me of the incredible stories our furry friends carry and the joy ..read more
