Every year we plan a major trip, and it seems like the bonus side trips turn out to be the best part!
Take our Vegas Adventure. Could we stand the glitz and the noise of downtown Las Vegas for 5 full days? Well, since we're not gamblers or drinkers or clubbers, no. But there is so much in the area! What to do? What to do?
Early Thursday morning found us boarding a bus at Treasure Island for a day touring the Grand Canyon (western rim) and the Hoover Dam. We had a Dam good time!
This tour traveled to Arizona, drove through Joshua Tree Forest, and deposited us on the Weste ..read more

Where do you go if you're an adult and love Roadside Americana? Why, the Las Vegas Strip!
TaGeez and I spent a glorious week in September exploring Las Vegas and its environs. Our main focus was a fun environment, lots of photo ops, and people watching! As geocachers, however, you have to get the caches in! We spent the first few days exploring the Strip and grabbing some Virtuals!
Can you believe our first stop our first morning was the iconic sign? Go early! Luckily we found some really nice Aussies who were willing to snap a few pics! Don't forget to grab the traditional nearby.

The final post of this fabulous Lake Michigan Circle Tour adventure could've been added to the memorable cache post, the Roadside America post, or the Natural Wonders post, but I felt he needed a post of his own.
Meet Benny the Beard Fisher!
Benny the Beard Fisher is the 2023 Michigan creation of Thomas Dambo, Danish artist and activist.
Thomas Dambo is a Danish artist known for his incredible sculptures made from recycled materials. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, he has a unique talent for transforming what many consider “trash” into beautiful, large-scale artworks, of ..read more

As much fun as we have with the oddities and rarities found on our Lake Michigan Circle Tour, there is no doubt that the natural views and majestic lighthouses on Lake Michigan are breathtaking.
Lake Michigan is home to 44 remaining lighthouses, and, lucky for ShelleyJean and I, we weather was with us on most of our visits.
First stop in Wisconsin was this beauty in Racine. Here we scored a geocache, an adventure lab, beautiful views, and pretty rocks for our collection.

The thing about traveling with SJ is the weirder the better. Nothing like a good, old-fashioned "Roadside America" road trip, and I'll tell you - this trip didn't disappoint!
Note: You will see a lot of Virtuals in this post, but there are no spoiler answers disclosed.
Illinois
The goal on this trip was to scoot past Chicago and get right into Wisconsin. But, left to my own devices in the passenger seat, I became just a bit curious over this Virtual along the highway. Yep! It's a pyramid! Actually, it was multiple pyramids (on an island, no less), plus a giant Ramses, dozens of smaller sphinxe ..read more

ShelleyJean and I loved the Milwaukee webcams, and we had more amazing caches on our Lake Michigan Circle Tour! Check out these two - each one awarded over 1,000 favorite points!
The Doctor Is In! GC6YDR6
As a Whovian, I have wanted to do this cache since I heard about it as HQ's Geocache of the Week in September 2018. This was so amazing we visited it twice!
It's amazing after so many years it's still in pristine condition. It still has the sound effects, and the Simon game appeared brand new.
I really hope newer cachers don't ignore it because it's listed as a puzzle cache ..read more

It's been a LONG while since I've posted. Life has interfered, and there haven't been too many adventures this year. TaGeez and I did attend Midwest GeoBash, but, due to work commitments, only for the day. But I did just return from a fabulous adventure with ShelleyJean.
Did you know there are still three active webcams in the Milwaukee area?
I'm a huge webcam fan! Not only is it figuring out how to find them, use them, get the best photos, but it's the camaraderie when you run into another Cacher there. It's, also, the fun of waving at a camera with passersby clueless why you're ..read more

TaGeez and I attended the Poker Run GCAFX5Q (leading up to the HNY24 Event). Find 6 caches and grab a poker card from each - cards to be opened at the HNY25 event in Warren. Best 10 hands win extra raffle tickets at the breakfast event.

ShelleyJean and I received our coins and t-shirts for completing the 23 geocaches and 11 adventure lab stops of the Belmont County Bigfoot GeoTour GT4DD! It was a good adventure in October - our second time doing a Belmont County tour - even if the weather was a little trying.
Mansfield Mickey Mouse
Our three-day trip was bookended with several Roadside America-like stops, which lent an air of adventure to our journey. After grabbing a few new Ohio counties (lots of Amish riding bikes up and down the hills), we reached Mansfield and the famous Mickey Mouse! We found him!
