Hey Everyone Basically as the title suggests, I have an idea of taking the next few months of our Youth sessions and divert them from our regular (monthly themes and weekly broken down sub-themes) MO and try take us on an un-themed journey through the bible. I want to know if this has been done before, and if so, if there are any tips you could share with me because I'm really nervous about making what feels like a big shift. Please let me know if you have any questions, thanks! submitted by /u/DAndrewCross [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hello! I am interviewing to become a Youth Pastor and there is a possibility that I will be a "guest speaker" for the YG that way they can know who I am, and I can also see where their faith is at maturity wise before I take the job. Any advice on how y'all would go about this or what direction you all would lean sermon wise? submitted by /u/thetallokie [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Service/Outreach Ideas for Middle School?

I’m really wanting to take my middle school youth kids OUTSIDE of the church walls, but I’m having a really difficult time finding things to do with them. We have youth on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 PM, and I’m wanting to take them out into the actual world to do ministry. Growing up, my youth group would go to nursing homes sometimes to play bingo, but the nursing homes where I live now are always closed after 3 PM, so I can’t do that here. The homeless shelters also require you to be at least 13 to serve, but not all my kids are 13 yet. Does anyone have any ideas? I just want us to start actual ..read more

Hey so the amount of youth coming each week always fluctuates - sometimes it’s around 35-40 like this past week (which is a great turn out) but then the week before it was like 20 max you know. How do you guys get regulars if that makes sense? Like they’re not all knew it’s just for some reason a lot come on some Fridays and other times it’s a fairly empty room. submitted by /u/Magicschoolbuss_ [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Advice on how to deal with former youth pastor
Youth Ministry: Ministry to Teens Through Churches and Para-Churches | Reddit

I am currently in the 6th month mark of a youth ministry position. The former youth pastor moved onto an ministry position in the same church . The problem is that he continues to come back and to youth group and Sunday service. It’s annoying because it feels like I am not able to grow into my position with him constantly being over my shoulder. Any advice on what I should do? submitted by /u/TemporaryMouse302 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
