Nonpoint brought the second leg of their Million Watts Tour to Lincoln, Nebraska, April 13th, 2024. Known for their high energy, showmanship and dramatic jumps, Nonpoint brought the perfect supporting cast in Hed PE and Dropout Kings. Both brought the same energy and spirit as the headliners.
While standing in line waiting to get into the doors, I spotted Adam Ramey (Dropout Kings’ lead vocals) and Rob Sebastion (guitar) walking around the Bourbon, checking out the crowd and fist bumping fans. This personal engagement continued throughout the set ..read more

Toto performed at the Stiefel Theatre in Salina, Kansas on Friday, April 12th as part of their Dogz of Oz tour.
I met a man in line who joked, “Nothing like a bunch of 50-year-olds coming to relive their glory days.” There were a lot of die-hard fans lining up. I didn’t know a lot of Toto’s work going into the show tonight, so I was excited to see what I’d been missing.
They played their song A Thousand Years, which had never been played live before. It was a special moment for long-time fans to experience. I had just seen my favorite band ..read more

On Friday, April 5th Ameristar Casino hosted Queensrÿche’s solo performance and journey back to their first two albums. The Origins tour treated fans to songs from their EP and first full release, The Warning.
The venue, the Star Pavilion, located in the Ameristar Casino, was a theater-like environment which made for a warm and personal atmosphere, making the fans feel like the band was there just for them.
The show started with the infamous hit, and the song that put them on the map, “Queen of the Reich”. This song still sends chills when ..read more

CHI Health Center Omaha was the place to be at on Friday, April 5 as Fall Out Boy brought their So Much For (2our) Dust tour to town. Thousands packed the arena for a night of rock n’ roll. It was a memorable night for all.
Carr was the opener on the bill. She is signed onto Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz’s label, DCD2 Records. I feel like women pop-punk vocalists are more fun to watch live than men because they just bring a fun energy to them that men don’t. She was having a fun time onstage, moving a ..read more

What a night.
Y’all…it’s been a hot minute since I’ve covered a show with four bands, and my old knees are now making new noises. But it was all worth it thanks in part to how incredible this show was! Wednesday night on April 3, 2024, Set It Off, Crown the Empire, DeathbyRomy, and Caskets played The Fillmore in downtown Minneapolis like it was the last show any of them would ever play.
First up were the fellas from across the pond, whom I’ve had the pleasure to cover before. Caskets (formerly Captives – little known fact) played a show in Phoenix when I lived dow ..read more

On March 13th I saw Olivia Rodrigo in concert in Omaha, NE. To begin with, I wanna say there were so many “livies” (Olivia Rodrigo fans) there. They were all so excited to see her and so were my friend and I. We got in the arena and there were was a little bracelet trading happening. At 7:30, the opener for Olivia came out. Her name is Chappell Roan. Her voice was so lovely and all of her songs were so good! When she was done the lights went off and on the big screen, Olivia was ..read more

St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday designed for having fun. Interestingly, it fell on a Sunday night. But that didn’t stop people from attending Nita Strauss’s concert at the Waiting Room Lounge in Omaha, NE. It was one rip-roaring night for heavy music.
Starbenders from Atlanta, GA was the first band on the bill. I love the rawness of their performance. It felt gritty in the best way. Led by lead vocalist and guitarist Kimi Shelter, she brought a blend of late 70s/80s hard rock to her singing and s ..read more

On Saturday, March 16, Avenged Sevenfold returned to Pinnacle Bank Arena. A couple of thousand rock fans made the trek to the downtown Lincoln arena to witness one of the greatest modern hard rock bands. It was an incredible night for live music.
Vended was the first band on the bill. This was a one-off support gig, so this was a special show for them. They are from Des Moines, so they didn’t have to drive far to get here. Led by Griffin Taylor, if you recognize that last name and hear him scream ..read more
