Just went to a new liquor store for me, so I had to take advantage. Picked up two G4 repos since I don’t see them often. I’ve had it before and absolutely love it. Only one I have is running low and got from south of the border. Picked up montagave blanco which I’m super excited about. Got a El Gran Legado de Vida blanco, which I’ve never had before. It was on sale and has really good ratings. Also grabbed a don vicente repo. Haven’t had any of their tequilas but it has a good price point and amazing ratings. I’ve found over the last few months that I prefer reposados over blancos (heresy I know) but I’d like to narrow down my searches. I prefer to stay away from autoclave cooked agave and tahona crushed would be preferable but isn’t a deal breaker. Fortaleza is unheard of around here. I can’t find Tapatio either. I went to a store across town in search of some tequilas I can’t find locally and after searching and picking out a few bottles- the owner ask- would you like some Fortaleza? I said ‘Yes’ and he said great- I have one bottle of Still Strength left. Hello- how good was that timing? I can honestly say that it is more amazing than I expected-was thinking alcohol would be a big factor- nope- best agave notes I have ever smelled or tasted. This is my current collection (yes I know, not all of them are additive free). Which one would you suggest to get next? I'm considering Wild Common and Cazcanes, but are they worth it? If yes, should 8 get their Blanco, or Reposado? As I live in Switzerland and those 2 brands don't get exported here, it's impossible to try those 2 brands here.
