Just wanted to throw this out as an idea for people who like making cocktails. Crushed up dum dums make for a good flavor for a cocktail.
Whenever I go to the bank they have dum dums that you can take. ( another good option is peppermint wheels) so I always have a few lying around.
You can crush them up and add them to rim, or do what I do and add additive free tequila, club soda, splash of grapefruit or lime ( or both) and crushed up candy. I don’t do this often- normally prefer g4 or la Gritona neat- but when I do I always marvel at how simple and tasteful it is
Yes it’s a little bit of sug ..read more

First you need to know that i Live in Montreal and that good tequila is almost impossible to find at the SAQ (gov. Liquor store)
So we were in New York for the week end and my girlfriend went to pick some tequila for me as a surprise.
She came back with this bottle I've seen a lot here.
Tell me your impressions on it please ?

I picked up a bottle of Don Julio 1942 to sample at home. It tasted like a tequila infused vanilla drink — no bite, masked agave, and hardly believable at 80 proof. Not what I was expecting at all and I was a little disappointed. I like my tequila to taste like tequila and I like to pick out the agave from the other notes. But this was popular with my friends who seemed to enjoy it, and soon I was left with a nearly empty bottle so I opted to pick up another just for the sake of having it as a staple at my bar. Here’s where it all got weird. I sipped the new bottle and lo-and-behold it ac ..read more

Today, I spent about two hours having a casual tasting with the only person that I know who can appreciate tequila near to the extent that I do. I decided this was the best time to open a bottle that I had been sitting on for a year and a half. A bottle that I had been offered 4x the price that I paid. A bottle that I thought I might never open because I really don’t like aged tequila. It was certainly worth it though because he sent a picture to his friend (who is a TMM panel member) to brag and the guy immediately called to inquire more and my friend had watery eyes describing how lucky ..read more

So, I’ve been going down the classic cocktail rabbit hole for a couple years now. I’ve accumulated dozens of bottles and made dozens of famous cocktails. However, tequila has been largely ignored until recently. Seemingly, for no good reason. I’ve always enjoyed it, but it was always the usual weirdly vanilla heavy stuff like Casamigos, or Patron, or any number of widely available brands not considered top-tier by most accounts. I recently, came across the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, and it sparked a more serious tequila journey. It was delicious. Crazy good. I made a point to buy what seemed ..read more
