94 R1100RS Timing Chain Guide

Hello everyone, I picked up this great looking RS recently and both head gaskets started leaking. I went through and replaced them, unfortunately I had some issues in reassembly and broke the right side upper timing chain guide (related pic). The rest of the guide is intact. Any suggestions? I have read a forum about the Steptoe method, but I also have heard that the last bit of the guide isn’t a big issue. I would really appreciate additional guidance! submitted by /u/Safe-Swimming [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey, all - just bought my first Bimmer, a NOS '23 GSA. I seem to be a tad too tall for the cockpit layout: I can't see the top of the TFT at all. The ask - does anyone have known-good suggestions to lift the Nav mount at least 3/4"/20mm? submitted by /u/GekkenQJones [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hey guys, I’m looking to take my 310 on some of the off-road trails in my area this summer, does anyone have recommendations for a good set of crash bars? I’m looking for as much protection as possible for that inevitable fall in the woods. submitted by /u/Few-Radio-684 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Got this as a loaner from dealer while the R1200GS is having a major service, just seems really buzzy and anemic. submitted by /u/Cephelapod [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Help with K27 2009 R1200R fueling issues.

I made a video explaining my fueling issues. Initially the gear position potentiometer was faulty and that was causing probably the fueling maps to go wrong. Then I replaced the fuel pump and filter with the All-Balls Kit 47-2013. I did this because I thought the fueling problems were caused by the fuel pump. Same issues. I checked the butterflies and also the TPS. All good and the TPS is new. Finally I cleaned up the spark plugs which were dark, and a bit fouled. Same problem. When the rpms go above 4,500 or 5,000 rpms. The fueling seems to cut and the bike seems to run very lean. See th ..read more

How is the passenger experience on this bike? I'd love an adv bike that would be friendly for taking my wife on some rides, but I haven't seen any commentary about how friendly or unfriendly this bike is for riding 2 up. Any thoughts? submitted by /u/Tot_Doc [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have a tiny scratch on the front fairing from a stone, but I can't find the colour codes anywhere. I've looked all around the frame, under the seat, etc. Does anyone know? Thanks! submitted by /u/AMoistLemon [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Tricky situation

Backstory: I am from the US but I lived full time in Germany for 6 years with my wife. We bought a house and have a small child. Unfortunately just over a year ago we separated (not divorced) and I have returned back to the US. I plan on returning to Germany frequently to see my child but never to permanently stay. Tricky part: In the US I have a motorcycle license and a 1000cc bike. I want to buy a motorcycle to ride when I come to visit Germany. Can the bike be registered and insured to my wife even if she can’t ride it? Can she add me as an additional driver with my US license? submitted ..read more

Fair price for a 1250GS, 2019 30k miles

I apologize beforehand if this is the wrong place to ask but i’m in the market for a used GS and I found one from a BMW dealer with 30k miles. Dealer says it’s one owner and meticulously serviced since they bought it from them new. I realize these hold their value quite well and I was wondering what the fair price on one of these are? Also in terms of reliability how do these fare at higher miles. It’s quite hard to find fair price values on used motorcycles. KBB is quite vague. Looking to make the switch from Ducati back to BMW! submitted by /u/redditislife24 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
