Here you can see me make all sorts of cool science projects. I am currently trying to obtain as many elements as I can from household materials. In other videos I use these elements to make other cool things.

In this video I show how to isolate an extract of osladin from licorice fern root. Osladin is a natural compound that is 600x sweeter than sugar! If you enjoyed this video, check out some of my others and drop a like and subscribe for more! Some activities demonstrated in this video may be dangerous to replicate and should NOT be attempted by individuals at home. Although experiments are fun and exciting, some reactions can be dangerous without proper safetyand equipment. This video is solely intended for educational purposes and should not be replicated in any way shape or form. E-mail - thec ..read more

In this video I demonstrate how to quickly isolate some caffeine powder from caffeine pills. If you enjoyed this video, check out some of my others and drop a like and subscribe for more! Some activities demonstrated in this video may be dangerous to replicate and should NOT be attempted by individuals at home. While chemistry is very enjoyable, safety must always be number one concern and doing research is very important before trying the reactions themselves. In this video I demonstrate how to prepare sodium silicate solution for use in creating refractory mixtures for furnaces. Sodium silicate can also be used in the classic chemical garden reaction. If you enjoyed this video, check out some of my others and drop a like and subscribe for more! NOTE: The chemical equation part way through should be 2 NaOH + SiO2 ---) Na2SiO3 + H2O. I accidentally forgot to add the two. Some activities demonstrated in this video may be dangerous to replicate and should NOT be attempted by individuals at home. Although experiments are fun and exciting, some reactions ..read more

This is a slightly different video than I normally upload, but I thought maybe some of you might find it interesting. I filmed this for a scholarship application where one of the requirements was to take a blank sheet of paper and do something creative and mining related with it. Although I love chemistry, I am also a geologist. Lot of the public are unaware of what geologists do, or the critical role that geology plays in society. Hopefully this is a fun, quick glimpse into the epic world of Earth Science! Let me know what you think of this sort of content. If you enjoyed this video, check ou ..read more
