One common cause of hearing loss is exposure to loud sounds. This can be the result of a single loud sound, like fireworks or a gun discharging near your ear. Hearing loss can be caused by a variety of factors and can be categorized as one of three types of hearing loss – sensorineural, conductive or mixed (both sensorineural and conductive components).
