An explosion rocked a metal processing plant located in Ohio on Monday 20th Feb 2023. The plant is owned by I Schumann & Co. processes metals and alloys and is located in Bedford near Cleveland, OH. Has the root cause of the Ohio train derailment (that led to the Ohio chemical cloud) been found? Background You probably know by now about the Ohio train derailment accident that took place about two weeks ago, where a 150 car train carrying various chemicals met with an accident near East Palestine Ohio. Dec 23, 2021– A fire broke out in the Exxon Mobil refinery located in Baytown, TX today, injuring four contract workers who were repairing a pipeline inside the hydrotreater unit. This unit was shutdown earlier this week after a leakage and apparently was being repaired by contract workers. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Harris County, tweeted that “initial reports indicated some type of explosion occurred inside the plant.” This Exxon Mobile refinery fire was raging for several hours, but has now been put out and is under control, according to people familiar with the incident.
