Good evening folks, I have been with my MSP for just over a year and I fill multiple roles within the organization including Account Manager, Director of Operations, and recently acquired the hat of generating new business through networking groups. The MSP has been setup with a package through Robin Robins that includes Keaps, web management, and marketing/training however from what I have seen the material seems to be very dated and doesn't apply well to the MSP industry. I have been looking at Techtribe based off the reviews I have seen in this group and it's promising but I am also lookin ..read more

If you’re using N-central, what ticketing system are you using? Does it have a direct integration with N-central, or did you write something custom for this, or you just deal with it not able to link back to devices in N-central? submitted by /u/IllustriousRaccoon25 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

We are small MSP and long time client left with a short notice. Asked us to work with new company and we are okay with that, gave them okay to pass our info to new company. Here is the fun part! They switched over to other company and looks like they don't want to answer us anymore because, yes, you all guessed it, payment! We are hosting their email servers and asked them what they want to do with it? And no reply on that either. It is costing us to host it and we don't want to terminate the service. We are going to send them another email service termination notice. Hopefully they will take ..read more

Hey guys, my company buys hundreds of refurbished laptops every month and a lot of them we find out the batteries are not in good condition after we send them out to clients. Does anyone know of a good program/hardware battery tester that we can test them with? I've tried using powercfg but unfortunately there are no statistics when we get the laptops. submitted by /u/Cultural_Ad7838 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

In my domain there was a migration of server based homeshares to One Drive. As I visit users I find that not all have logged into their desktop OneDrive application, and their synchronisation is not running. How can I scan a network section to determine who is actively syncing? Maybe that's something PDQ Inventory can do? TIA submitted by /u/SorryMatch8461 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Employee Retention - what’s important?

I was brought on as a systems engineer for an MSP about 3 months ago and am being handed the title of team lead over about 5 other engineers. I’m excited for this, but I’ve never been in a role like this. I’ll also add that this MSP, especially the team I’m leading, has historically had high turnover due attrition and unrealistic metrics. I am making it a priority to bring the turnover rate down as much as I can. For those who have worked at the same MSP for a while, especially in a project/implementation role, what has kept you there? For those who have led teams, what we’re some key things ..read more

We (the MSP) have the network, process & documentation side of this down but clients are still wholly incapable of filling the rest of the questionaire. Conversely, -I don't know what they hell they do with customer credit cards or or how they do it. That's notwithstanding the fact that they typically are using a 3rd party card reader that talks to an app hosted by a 3rd party in the cloud. All of this makes me want to say, "nah, I am good" and stay out of these things entirely but the owner of my business thinks we should take end-to-end ownership of the liability because "we are their I ..read more
