Woolly Race Rescheduled
Woolly Bike Club

It is with great disappointment that the Woolly Crew has made the call to reschedule the Woolly Race to July 10th, 2022. Going into the weekend we were very optimistic that the 0.25"-0.5" of forecasted rain would be bearable and we could put on a good race. Unfortunately, by 10am on Saturday Woolly had already received 1.25" of rain with another 0.5" forecasted to come by race time on Sunday. The soccer fields that are our start and finish area had kids up to their ankles in muddy water, the new bypasses around our muddies trails are underwater, and the best draining trails we planned to use ..read more

POSTED 4/28/2022 9:30PM   Hey Woolly Land and MN MTB Series Riders! I'm sure you are all obsessively hitting refresh on the forecast pages, just like us, hoping to see the rain clouds magically disappear and sunshine and 70's show up.  And instead are worried about a cancelled race. Here is the TL;DR version: Woolly and the MN MTB Series are very optimistic that we will be racing on Sunday.  It might be damp, and the courses may be slightly modified, but we are going to do everything we can to race.   And if you want the long version: Woolly and the Series have been gettin ..read more

Survey Opportunities Hey everyone.  There are a couple of survey opportunities that can help raise the awareness of the value mountain bike trails in the the City of St. Croix Falls and Polk County.  If we can get a bunch of folks to participate this may help lead to more opportunities and funding for more trails. You do NOT need to be a City of SCF or Polk County resident to participate in either. Woolly is very excited to once again be the first race in the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series.  With some solid COVID contingency planning in place we are working hard with the series, the city, and our sponsors to put on a great race on May 2nd. It might look a little different than it has in the past, but we hope you are as excited as we are to get back to racing in 2021. Stay tuned on the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series webpage for further details and registration when it opens.   If you landed here because of the travelwisconsin.com web page about the Mammoth Gravel Classic being ..read more

Woolly Needs You! I don't need to tell anyone that it has been a strange year.  As we draw it to a close I would like to ask you to consider joining (or renewing) IMBA and designating Woolly Bike Club as your chapter. Why?  A few reasons. That is how you officially become a member of the Woolly Bike Club.  Members are able to elect the board members who help steer the direction of the club.  Members can also run for that board and directly contribute. Almost all of that membership money comes back to Woolly Bike Club.  Most of our annual operating ..read more

3/17/2020 - Hey Woolly Land, It is with great disappointment that I must let you know that the Woolly Bike Club has decided that we must postpone the 2020 Woolly Race. In the interest of putting on the high quality event we strive to produce each year and with the safety of our volunteers and participants in mind, we cannot in good conscience proceed with the event on the originally planned date. We are in contact with the MN Mtb Series and will continue to monitor the situation and hope to get onto the schedule later in 2020. As the weather gets ..read more

While there is still a lot of snow on the ground and hopefully will be for another two months or so with sweet groomed single track to ride, Woolly is busy working in the background on the 2020 Woolly Race scheduled for May 3rd!  That means we will shortly be seeking out sponsors for the 2020 race. But first, we need to do another round of shout-outs for our 2019 sponsors.  Sponsorships are what makes it possible for Woolly to put on our race.  That race basically funds our entire operation allowing us to build and maintain those sweet trails.  So, be sure to suppo ..read more

Woolly Day 2019 Update
Woolly Bike Club

I figured I should drop an update on Woolly Day plans.  It has been just plain wet lately.  With more rain on the way Saturday the amount of trails open for Woolly Day may be pretty limited. The weather looks promising for the day of though so we are still planning to go ahead with our celebration.  We will still have food and cake.  We are hoping to have some skills courses setup at the trailhead similar to what the Chisago Lakes Composite Mountain Bike Team sees at their races. Depending on trail conditions we will open what we can, otherwise a nice cruise up th ..read more
