What's up guys? So, I have to admit that this is one of the most useful and insightful podcasts that I feel I've ever done. Informative, remindful, and motivating, this podcast hits the nail on the head with getting in the right mindframe to achieve serious, physique changing results! I've always tried to keep it real, and oftentimes keeping it real goes against the grain of online fitness. It's not easy, there are no shortcuts, and so much of this game is mental. Let me get in your head a little bit and shift the way you look at working out, nutrition, and performance enhancement! It's time t ..read more

I've been bodybuilding for the better part of the past 3 decades now. When I began lifting weights, I was right around 140 lbs at 5'9. I remember seeing this guy walking up the street with his shirt off on this random summer day, and I thought having visible pecs looked pretty impressive and that's what I wanted for myself. It didn't help that I was a child of the 80's and had all of the action movies that pretty much said, “This is what a man is supposed to look like!” And before that, it didn't help that I was into He-man action figures which were the most roided out looking toy action figur ..read more

Hey guys, I hope you've all been well! I recently received an email from a listener that wanted my opinion on a couple different ways to work out as well as intuitive eating versus regimented eating patterns. That is, learning your macros and knowing what your body needs in a more unregimented and instinctive manner, versus weighing your foods and eating every few hours. Well, I feel like there are positives and negatives with both topics, depending on who you are and where you're at with your gym experience and development. Listen to the podcast to get my take on these topics. TRAIN HARD! -JD ..read more

The drive from upstate NY to Charlotte, NC usually took about 12 hours for me, give or take an hour, depending on traffic conditions. But I was a young, impatient fuck, determined to do that drive in 10 hours that day. The morning I left my house to leave and start my new life is still pretty vivid to me, despite that day being over 2 decades ago. My 2 door 91′ Honda Accord was packed with clothes and $500 cash was in my wallet. I walked into the kitchen still half asleep and hugged my mom goodbye, and then into the kitchen walked my father. My dad broke down crying and hugged me goodbye, a re ..read more

If you're constantly eating out, then you're a stupid son of a bitch! I will pull no punches in this article, fair warning. Do you know where you can go to eat healthy if you need to eat out all the time? FUCKING NOWHERE! That's where you can go, NOWHERE! Okay, maybe there are some shit-ass places that can serve as “damage control” on your diet, but I'm telling you right now that unless you want to spend $50 every time you eat out then you're going to fall short someplace! Take your thin sliced deli meat, your whopping 2 oz of diced chicken per serving, and your useless iceberg lettuce and GO ..read more

Bodybuilding to Feel Good

Those of us that live a bodybuilding lifestyle often go to the gym with a plan in our minds of what the workout will be for that day. We have certain expectations of what we should be lifting for set 1, and what we should be lifting for set 3 & 4 of a given exercise. The weight is always relative to our expectations and anything less than what meets or exceeds our expectations is chalked up as a shit workout. Then we may go do cardio, and for that cardio we usually have a certain amount of time we plan to spend on the cardio equipment, or a certain level we want to keep our heart rate at ..read more
