The latest ratchet update from DT Swiss is their DEG system that increases engagements and drops engagement angle significantly. If you’re on the hunt for a hub that offers little in the way of crank rotation, then the new DT Swiss Ratchet DEG system might well be the one for you. By increasing ratchet teeth to 90 from the EXP’s 36, DT Swiss have been able to bring down engagement angle to a measly 4 degrees. It’s never a good feeling announcing this kind of news, but Finnish innovators Pole Bicycles led by Leo Kokkonen have filed for insolvency. Founded in 2015, Pole Bicycles were innovators of monocoque CNC’d bikes with unique frame treatments, sporting some geometry well ahead of the curve.
