Who doesn't want more Minnesota Vikings action, but is it too much?
There are multiple sources out there stating the NFLPA and the NFL are discussing expanding the season the 18 games. This expansion would also come with two byes to help with load management. The NFL is one of the shorter seasons in professional sports, due to the violent nature of the game. This expansion would bring two additional weeks and make it a 20 week season. This would obviously bring two additional weeks of revenue and more money for all. That’s why Roger Goodel ..read more

And a couple of other moves for the roster
With training camp fully underway, the Minnesota Vikings made several roster moves in the wake of the season-ending injury to cornerback Mekhi Blackmon, who was officially placed on injured reserve on Thursday.
The team has announced the signings of linebacker Jabril Cox and cornerback Jacobi Francis. In order to make room on the roster, the team waived undrafted free agent linebacker K.J. Cloyd.
The team has also taken running back DeWayne McBride off of the Non-Football Injury list after he officially passed his p ..read more

Cornerback group suffers another unfortunate loss
Now that training camp has begun and we are getting daily reports which is great. Football season is back and we can really debate (er., argue) about players, coaches, etc. Unfortunately, the team has suffered another loss to the cornerback group with the Mekhi Blackmon injury. The speculation has begun about what they will do even after the Duke Shelley signing. Is there any free agent out there worth signing?
The Vikings did meet with Jerry Jacobs in May. Adoree Jackson might be worth a look but he has been ..read more

Always an interesting point of discussion for me. I don’t live in Minnesota and I don’t get to go to many games. Most of the games I do attend are on the road.
The Minnesota Vikings will have eight home games in Minneapolis and another “Home Game” in London.
I live in metro-Atlanta, GA and I don’t have the ability to get to as many games as I would like. I normally attend one game a year. Most of the time that is on the road. The last two seasons it has been at Carolina and at Washington.
This year, I have bigger and better plans. A few close home games w ..read more

Not the way the Vikings needed to start camp
The Minnesota Vikings officially have one training camp practice in the books, and they’ve already suffered a serious loss in their secondary.

In a thin CB room, the Vikings can ill afford to lose depth
Hey friends — doing a little evening thing here.
Nobody needs to be reminded that the Minnesota Vikings are thin at cornerback — especially the ‘why’ — but that situation may have gotten murkier with a hiccup on the practice field on Wednesday.

Mekhi Blackmon, the second-year corner who was likely to be the top reserve at the position, limped off the playing field after dealing with what appears to be a knee injury.

Another deal in the books
After the Minnesota Vikings gave wide receiver Justin Jefferson his record-setting contract extension, the logical choice for the next member of the purple to come to a new deal was left tackle Christian Darrisaw.
He won’t have to wait as long as Jefferson did.
Vikings and offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw have agreed on a 4-year deal worth up to $113 million in new money, including $77mil in guaranteed money. He had two years left on his rookie contract. Deal includes 43.7 guaranteed at signing.

He’s back!
On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings brought back a player that became a bit of a folk hero around these parts during their 2022 division-winning season.
The team has announced that they have signed cornerback Duke Shelley. The terms of the deal were not immediately made available.
The Vikings have a few spots available on the roster as the three players that have been placed on Physically Unable to Perform and Non-Football Injury lists do not count against the 90-man roster until they’re activated.
Shelley started his career with the Chicago Bears ..read more
