Can you be creating joyful wellness during the hardest times?
ME/CFS Self-Help Guru

This week I found myself quite strongly disagreeing with someone who was struggling through an extended dip and felt that creating joyful wellness was not something to be thinking about during those difficult times when instead all you could do is push yourself to get through. I don’t want anyone to feel that they must push themselves to be joyfully well, but neither do I want anyone to feel that all they can do is struggle and push to get through. So today, I want to explain what I mean when I say that you can be creating joyful wellness without effort, even during the most difficult times. M ..read more

To get ready for a new year ahead I like to put the old one to bed with a brief but constructive review. With limited mental energy, we can tend to have an overgeneralised memory which can put a negative slant on our impressions of the past. But if we guide our attention carefully we can go into the next year with a better sense of good things to come. Here’s how I’m leaving 2023 behind. 3 things that worked for my joyful wellness this year Free form dancing, shifting my energy around my body and restoring me to a high vibrational state. I’ve always loved to dance, and when I was learning Sev ..read more

A powerful passage that is changing my life!

For many years now I’ve been working on my wellness in a holistic way combining spiritual, mindset, emotional and physical approaches. Two of the biggest personal lessons I keep getting faced with, over and over again, have been learning to approach life without pressure and surrendering to the support of the universe. Every time I think I’m getting somewhere with them, I seem to be faced with another challenge that takes me to a new level of letting go and a new level of belief in how I am supported. This year I’ve been enjoying the works of Abraham with Esther and Jerry Hicks. It’s taken me ..read more

Embracing empowering beliefs for better wellbeing: Discoveries from my walks

A few months ago, I went through a bit of a dip in my health. As I started pulling out of it and resumed my walks around the block, I noticed that my heart rate alarm was going off a lot more regularly, and even when I slowed down or stopped, it was almost impossible to prevent it from going off again as soon as I started up again. I’d even get an aerobic workout just from strolling around the block at a snail’s pace. I also noticed that I would dip the day after. None of this is unexpected, right? Well, that’s the point of this blog. When I started to change how I thought about my walks and w ..read more

A Romance Heroine with ME/CFS: Tough Cookie by Talia Hunter

I have a guilty secret, I spend a lot of time reading gentle romances. I’ve always been an avid reader but before ME/CFS my reading choices were very different. I would have looked down on the romance genre as not worthy of my time. Since ME/CFS it’s been a life saver. I read to relax, and with a nervous system prone to overstimulation, it’s really important that my entertainment doesn’t include tension and suspense. Romance reading for me, is a very low energy activity. In fact, when I read in bed in the morning, my smart watch thinks I’m still asleep. Because of the amount of time I need to ..read more

Are You Coping or Creating?
ME/CFS Self-Help Guru

I haven’t written a blog post for a while, every time I’ve had some inspiration recently for something that I want to share, I’ve sat down to write about it and then thought, ‘I’m sure I’ve written about this before, I’ll just check that post to make sure I’ve got something fresh to say’. Then I’ve read what I’ve written and thought, ‘what can I add to that?’ But finally, I’ve got something fresh to share. I know I’ve talked about some of this before in different posts I’ve written over the last decade, but what I want to stress the most, is the energetic side of how we approach wellness. Quit ..read more
