the empty spaces shows the quality of the pyramid isn't what it once was believed to be. it was said to be built by thousands of rocks perfectly shaped, but now we know its construction short cuts. will less visitirs now? submitted by /u/gusw1 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Like the title says, does anyone know where I can find a copy of Affairs and scandals in Ancient Egypt by Pascal Vernus online. I don't care about the format, I just need to be able to read it. Also, I don't need the whole book, just the chapter 'The Plunder of Western Thebes.' submitted by /u/JuDracus [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I'm writing an essay on the subject and was wondering if anyone knows if the pre-dynastic cultures (maadi, naqada, badarians, etc.) left behind any writings on their burial practices? Maybe like a precursor to the book of the dead? Thank you! submitted by /u/GradientGoose [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

The only information I have found concerning it is in Sir EA Wallis Budge's Dictionary of Egyptian Hieroglyphs, which calls it a 'fabulous animal, khekh' or 'xex' in a later edition of the dictionary.
