Football saved his life and bought his mom a house
Malik Nabers addressed the media for the first time as a professional football player and member of the New York Giants on Friday.
“I’m happy to be here, I’m finally here.” Nabers said of being an NFL player. “Just to get out there running with the guys. It’s a dream come true.”
Coaches say that they want players who love football. Well, Nabers certainly seems to love football, and then some.
“It was the only thing that I felt like I could do with my life,” he said after practice. “It was the only thing that I ..read more

Giants hold first of two practices for rookies
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants’ rookies were like race horses at the starting gate on Friday as rookie mini-camp got underway at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. They were raring to go, but head coach Brian Daboll and the Giants were holding them back.
“It’s just an introductory phase for them to see how we operate, start learning basic terminology, figuring out where everything is. It’ll be a good start,” Daboll said. “We don’t really throw a lot at them right now ... we’ll just take it slow. They ..read more

The Giants announce their UDFA additions
The New York Giants announced Friday morning that they’ve officially signed seven undrafted free agents.
The announcement, which came shortly before the first practice of rookie mini-camp took place, included OG Jake Kubas, OT Marcellus Johnson, WR Ayir Asante, WR John Jiles, EDGE Ovie Oghoufo, DL Casey Rogers, and K Jude McAtamney.
It’s worth noting that the Giants signed McAtamney, who was born and raised in Northern Ireland, as an “Exempt/International” player, so he doesn’t count against their 90 ..read more

Jones isn’t Patrick Mahomes, but ranking him as the league’s worst starting quarterback is a bridge too far
The Daniel Jones slander has reached a new, and completely ridiculous, level.
This week, Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports ranked all 32 likely starting quarterbacks for the 2024 season. He placed Jones last.
That’s silly. That’s insulting. That’s just plain wrong.
I’m not here to tell you Jones is a great quarterback. He’s not. We can all agree, at least, that he has not been that. He probably never will be.
I’m not here to tell you Jones will be ..read more

Here are 5 free agents the Giants could still consider adding to their roster?
The New York Giants made their six draft selections and are turning the page to offseason activities. Included in those activities are post-draft free-agent additions that do not count against the 2025 compensatory draft formula.
Joe Schoen and the Giants added cornerback David Long Jr. and wide receiver Allen Robinson since the end of the draft. According to Over The Cap, the Giants only have slightly over $5 million in cap space. New York could push specific contracts into the f ..read more

Rookie mini-camp to be held Friday and Saturday
With rookie mini-camp practices being held on Friday and Saturday, it figures that some if not all of the New York Giants’ six 2024 draft picks will sign their rookie contracts in the next day or two.
That process began on Thursday when fifth-round pick Tyrone Tracy Jr., a running back, signed his rookie deal.
Tracy played wide receiver at Iowa for four seasons before transferring to Purdue and transitioning to running back.
NFL rookie contracts are slotted. Tracy’s four-year deal will be worth ..read more

PFF continues to love the Giants’ draft
Pro Football Focus analyst Trevor Sikkema has already heaped praise upon the New York Giants for their work in 2024. And on Thursday he named the Giants’ rookie class as one he believes will be among the NFL’s most productive.
Sikkema doesn’t really break any new ground in the piece. He doesn’t grade or evaluate the classes as a whole, nor does he try to forecast just how productive the rookies will be. Instead, he says, he’s trying to project which classes will get the most production from their rookies.

Nabers will need help from Daniel Jones and Drew Lock to win this wager
Former LSU teammates Malik Nabers and Jayden Daniels, have a friendly wager on which of them will become NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Nabers, the wide receiver drafted No. 6 by the New York Giants, and Daniels, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback selected No. 2 overall by the Washington Commanders, apparently have a $10,000 bet on the winner.
Daniels was asked about the apparent be ..read more
