I’ve just spent a fair amount of time updating the games. I noticed that new scores were being logged to the database, but no scores were showing on the top-score screen. After a bit of debugging and detective work I was able to track down the main problems and fix them, so the games once again show top-ten scores. I’ve recently become intrigued by the possibilities of musical coding – using programming as a tool for teaching basic programming skills and musical concepts at the same time. Sonic Pi is a programming environment developed by Dr. Sam Aaron at Cambridge University. He has worked closely with educators to develop a system that is both easy to learn and a lot of fun to use.
