Power Automate Desktop to Pull Data from Websites

I’ve had several speaking engagements over the last few months where I walk the audience through how to get started with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using Power Automate Desktop to automate manual tasks and often the first thought that people have is to use RPA for data entry. In fact, one of my examples is of that very thing where we accept data from a web form and watch the solution automatically fill out fields in a legacy .NET app. I’m currently working on a large eRooms migration and my team and I found several use cases where RPA saved us a ton of time. We needed to gather the permi ..read more

Yesterday was the beginning of a new tech community focused around the Microsoft Cloud and built on Discord. The Microsoft Cloud Hub is a community driven place where anyone can join, chat, share content, and ask questions. The concept grew from the desire to have a place where the community can gather to have real-time conversations about topics of interest. If you want to discuss the latest SPFx release, share a blog post about the Microsoft Graph, ask a question about the Power Platform, or look up any upcoming events that others are attending, we want the Microsoft Cloud Hub to be that pl ..read more

In the previous two posts, Investigating a Busted SharePoint Version History and Using PowerShell to Add a Missing List Form Web Part, I walked through an issue that I was having during a migration where a library’s files and versions were migrated but the version history window (modal) wasn’t accessible. I went on to explain what the issue was and provided a couple of ways to correct it. While I was investigating the issue and coming up with solutions, someone asked me if there was any way to assure the business that the files migrated while we looked for a solution. I don’t recall ever noti ..read more

Using PowerShell to Add a Missing List Form Web Part

In the previous post, Investigating a Busted SharePoint Version History, I described the steps that I took to troubleshoot an unexpected error when trying to view a file’s version history. The issue occurred when the migration tool was unable to fully migrate a document library, specifically the List Form web part on the library’s display form, because custom scripts were not allowed on the site. The solution was to allow custom scripts and re-run the migration. In this post, I’ll share how you could reintroduce the web part using PowerShell if you can’t or don’t want to re-run the migration j ..read more

Have you ever tried to view a document’s version history and an error appears? I was recently performing a migration and each library that I was moving had this problem. I checked the migration logs and the versions were successfully copied over. Running the migration again didn’t solve the problem and neither did changing the configuration settings. I started to research the issue and came across very few forums where others were experiencing the same issue and there were several potential solutions with mixed results. In this post, I’ll walk through my specific issue, how I identified it, an ..read more

On May 15th, we wrapped up another M365 Philly Virtual event an as I’ve done each year, here’s my post-event article. Last year’s event was 3 days long with 3 keynote speakers and 33 sessions. This year, we did 2 days with 1 keynote speaker and 45 sessions. The Planning Based on last year’s feedback, people seemed to enjoy the 3 half day format that we did. Three days were a bit of a challenge for the team though with work obligations. This year, after a bit of discussion, we decided to reduce it to 2 days. The Friday-Saturday format was partially to help the team out. We also kicked around th ..read more
