Hello,
I am working on obtaining my PhD of Public Health with a specialty in Epidemiology. I have a background in clinical psychology. My topic for my dissertation I am excited about but some of my instructors don’t think it’s a good idea with what I want to do or in any of my interests. My topic is Parental anxiety to vaccinate when there is such a high hesitation to vaccinate. I was trying to combine my passion for disease prevention/ infectious disease and mental health (for my psych background)
What are your thoughts? Anyways to change it, or make it more presentable. If not any new topic ..read more

The movement to “decolonize” global health has gained traction in recent years. For centuries, the legacy of colonialism has continued to shape the health outcomes of those in developing countries. To decolonize healthcare means making it more accessible to those that are marginalized by existing systems. What are some ways in which practitioners can achieve this?
I write more about this here: https://open.substack.com/pub/thedevelopingeconomist/p/decolonizing-public-health-in-developing?r=29ekcf&utm_medium=ios

Hi there!
Looking for some advice on whether this would be a good move for me or not.
I am interested in possibly getting an MPH. I currently work for a large hospital system as an operations coordinator (primarily an administrative role) but I have work experience in HIV/STI prevention from years ago (I was a testing counselor/phlebotomist). I left that job back in 2019 due to high stress and low pay, as well as some other life circumstances, but I found the field very interesting and rewarding.
I graduated with a bachelor's in public policy in 2018 and have been working for the same hospita ..read more

Hi! I have an idea of AI powered app aimed at automating meal planning for people focused on healthy eating, family people and professional athletes. I’m a developer myself and don’t have a prior experince in sales and marketing, but I feel like I need to validate this idea first before pumping more time in actual app development. So my question is would you use such app?

I was on LinkedIn looking at Epidemiologist and Healthcare data analyst positions when it redirected me to Dice.com. It seems to be a primarily IT job board so just wondering

I am looking for MPH programs that I can do part time, and continue working my full time job. However, almost all the part time programs I’m looking at are online and I would love to do an in person program. I’m looking for a part time in person program- ideally in California with a global health concentration ??

I am completing my Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and am on my way to aquiring my CRSP designation and then my BCRSP.
I'm wondering where provides solid co-ops / internships that lead to jobs or.potential jobs upon graduating. I'm in the lower mainland of BC. Any advice would be appreciated to grow in my career.

Looking over some old notes from PH classes and I realized I can’t recall any examples of reverse-zoonotic diseases. I don’t think we spent much time on the subject, or maybe I missed the class when we went more in depth. But just curious, what are some prime examples of this - i.e., when should an infected person be extremely careful when coming into contact with specific animals? Thanks :)

Hi everyone,
I’m currently trying to obtain my masters in PH. However, I’m working FT and I am searching for a new job. I’d like to do research and analytics but I have no experience. I did one semester of research senior year of college.
I’m not strong in math and have no experience. Is it beginner friendly? Where can I seek courses to get certified in SAS?
Thank you!!
