Hi i’m currently a sophomore in hs looking to go to a UC school for ANYTHING medical related. This year i really fell into a slump and ended up getting a C my first semester and I fear it’s happening again. I have 0 extracurriculars, everyone has already founded clubs i’ve wanted to start, I’m not the best at my sport, average in about every single class, I can’t find a single internship opportunity whatsoever and i’m convinced i’m never getting into college. College admissions for UC schools are competitive, i don’t stand out at all. What should I start doing to stand out and improve my chan ..read more

Okay my anxiety is no joke. I’ve had intense social anxiety ever since the lockdown period was lifted and it has hindered my ability to make friends and be more socially active in general. I’ve spent most of the past 3 ish years drowning myself in my classes and now I’m paying the full price for it. I’ve gotten a bit more comfortable with people this year, but it’s been a slow process that I’m hoping to work on in college. That being said, with graduation less than a month away, I’m obviously very scared. I know I should go and I will (my parents are making sure of it), but I’m just anxious a ..read more

OK guys I’m genuinely confused so I currently was in Hollywood Florida and I had to move to Georgia because something happened so I finish my ninth grade year down here and then I wasn’t able to get I think a half a credit in my ninth grade year 10th grade year I failed two semesters of geometry and biology. I’m in 11th grade now and I completed all my credit recovery courses. I contacted my counselor. She told me that I definitely was able to be promoted to a senior two weeks ago. I end up taking my 11th grade EOc’S . I ended up emailing somebody and student office about graduation date for ..read more

Hi! I’m currently working on a really big project for my civics class about student voices in Public Schools. So If you could take a few minutes to fill this survey out as a part of my assignment, or share it with other people, that would be really helpful. Thank you! Have a great day :) submitted by /u/Thatskysquirrel [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My gpa is a 2.98 and act is only a 16 I’m a hs senior and my sophomore year I went through some stuff with cps, and got removed from my household. My grades from that year were Ds and c-s every year I get a c in math, but otherwise b-a+ I was planning to go to a community college nearby anyways since I get a grant for being in their district/city and graduating there. Idk I didn’t think I’d be around this long and it’s getting real and freaking me out. I got accepted into the community college but I still have to enroll. I took the act sophomore year too and I got like a 21 composite I specif ..read more

I am an 11th grader. I am aware that community college courses are not always acknowledged by any given university. In state, it is much more likely that everything would be transferable much easier. However, out of state, the one in particular that I want to go to is UCLA. Not likely, but I am hoping that applying as a transfer would be helpful in increasing my chances. Anyway, classes I want to take are: Korean 1 Basic Computer Hardware / Security Creative Writing All are online but only Korean has active instruction with a teacher, all week for 1 hour and 30 minutes. These are summer cours ..read more

Is it okay to not take a math class senior year if I already have the full 4 years?

I’m a junior in online school right now, and I’m just preparing for my senior year classes. In 8th grade I took Algebra 1 because my mom wanted me to get ahead, freshman year I took algebra 2, sophomore year I took geometry, and now I’m take Trig/Pre-Calc. I’m worried that colleges won’t like it if I don’t take a class like calculus or statistics senior year, and the only reason I’m questioning not taking it senior year is that I’m behind on elective credits and will have to take extra electives and don’t want to overload my course load. I’m also not the best student in math, I struggle under ..read more

So as a 9th grader I really don’t like my current school because it’s ghetto and I’ve been wanting to go to a good school since I was in 8th grade however from where I live my cities school system has this thing called reside schools which is a school closest to your area however most of the time you don’t have to go to your reside school and attend a different school but transportation will not be provided so I’m like fuck that I will just use a car but sadly this would never happen because I happened to go to my reside school and I hate the reside school system and I have been so impatient ..read more
