Ugh. Bromos. I'm laying in my bed crying right now because my 8yo just broke my favorite cup. It was my fancy handmade pottery chalice I bought for myself last October. And I'm crying because he keeps breaking shit, not just mine. He dropped a phone in the bath tub two weeks ago and now it won't charge or turn on. He broke the Oculus VR headset last week. He broke my laptop and my replacement Chromebook. He dropped my Nintendo switch in water last summer and now it doesn't have sound. He broke his big Xmas gift on Xmas this past year. It is always something with this kid. This doesn't include ..read more

EAT YOUR DINNER!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does it take my 3yo over an hour to eat dinner every single night?!?!? I’m so over it!!!! I eat fast, unintentionally, so I am trying really really hard to not hurry her… but to just get her to eat in a reasonable amount of time; preferably under an hour. We have her help us get dinner ready when possible. We try to entice with dessert. We try to entice with a tv episode. Nothing works.. and when we tell her she can’t have xyz because we don’t have time anymore, she is sad for like a minute then moves on. And OF COURSE after bath she’s always hungry again. We stopped doing a pre-bed snack ..read more

What are your favorite easy readers?

I used to be one of those people who read very dense, cerebral literature and I guess that part of my brain flew out the window. What are some easy reader books you’ve liked recently? My two most recent books have been Elevation by Stephen King and My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh. So, intellectually interesting concepts but also quick reads. Sorry if this isn’t the right sub for this but I thought some of y’all might have good suggestions! submitted by /u/Latter_Classroom_809 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

For those moms that did it, when did you know it’s time to get separated/divorced?

Hi moms, I have been thinking about divorce/separation on and off for a couple of years now. I am a working mom with two boys - 6 and 2. I have been feeling exhausted from working and doing most of the childcare and chores for the past six years. My husband works full time too. He is in charge of dropping off kids and picking up kids ( I do some pickup too), washing dishes after dinner, and taking my older boy to sports practice in addition to lawn care and car maintenance appointments ( not daily obviously). The rest is all mine to do. My toddler had a lot of issues when he was a baby. I did ..read more

An old friend with whom I used to work is undergoing her second round of chemo. She was an amazing coworker, watched our first kid when he was a newborn, etc. I want to send her something and was hoping someone had any suggestions! We don't live locally so I'd have to ship it. Thank you ❤️ submitted by /u/Sagerosk [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

My daughter is 11.5 and will be going into middle school this fall. She’s such a good kid and to know her is to love her. She’s never had issues with friends at school. She’s always had a lot of friends and from how I’ve seen her interact with them, she genuinely a good friend to all of them. She’s had a few rifts here and there, to be expected at that age. Nothing major. But now there’s 3-4 girls in her pod and in her class that have started rumors she stuffs her bra (a tale as old as time ?) and she of course, most certainly does not. It’s not as if she even has a large chest for age, but g ..read more

Everytime. Every single time we go to the park it is a DISASTER to leave. And I mean screaming bloody murder, hitting, kicking, flailing, like fighting for her life freak outs. Every. Single. Time. I stopped going for a little bit because the weather got bad so I had an excuse not to take her. I don’t know if she does it with other family, She does it with me no matter who comes to the park with us. And it’s embarrassing? It’s traumatic for both of us lol I know other parents understand sometimes at least moms with multiples understand. But yesterday, I took her, we had a great time. Played l ..read more

Frustrated by lack of help from family

Hey guys. Just wanted to complain for a sec. So both my MIL and my parents live in the same city as us. Neither of them are good grandparents. I mean, they’re ok, they’ll buy my son toys and stuff, but when it comes to actual help I don’t have it. My son is 4 and is awful. I thought it would get easier by 4 and it really hasn’t. Just really hyper, won’t listen, gets into any and everything etc. Last week my MIL was over and said how she “can’t handle him” she’s 75…. Ok fine I guess. Then my mom was at my house the other day. It takes her one hour to get to my place because we live on opposite ..read more
