Beautiful skin doesn't happen overnight, and sometimes, it's about trying all of the products that you can get your hands on until you get it right. At least, that's what I tell myself as I slide that new bottle of serum into my basket while I'm out and about "running errands''. And of course, that's exactly what I was thinking when I bought the Holifrog Galilee Antioxidant Dewy Drop, and it's such a welcome addition to my rotation during the dry seasons!
Prior to purchasing this from Sephora, I saw it pop up on my Instagram feed an awful lot, and I remember thinking that it soun ..read more

Mondays! Sometimes I love them, sometimes, not so much. There was a time when I tried to actively reprogramme my brain to think that Mondays truly, really weren't as bad as that major cat icon, Garfield made it out to be, and while that was the case for quite a while, it's sadly not a consistent thing. There is one thing that makes the morning a little easier, at least, and that's knowing that a good night's sleep with great skincare would give me a fantastic head start for the day, and possibly week!
I bought the Avene Hyaluron Activ B3 Multi-Intensive Night Cream when Priceline was h ..read more

While the Winter has been surprisingly mild during some weeks, it's also had a bit of a bite to it from time to time, such as yesterday, with the high winds knocking things over and blowing furniture across the road. When that Winter sun hits, though, and the winds have died down, the true magic of living in Australia in the colder months comes out. With clear blue skies, and the Winter warmth shining on you, Sydney Winters suddenly don't feel quite so harsh and horrible.
It also makes you feel like you could show a little skin during this time of year, and it wouldn't be the wor ..read more

Face masks - where would my skin be without them? Frankly, I don't want to know! I mean, why would you? My skin is GREAT, and while I know that my genetics (thanks, mummy!) can form a large part of why it is really this fantastic, I'm also aware that everything I heap on my skin has contributed to how it looks now. And yes, I know that it sounds like I'm boasting, but after years of going, oh no, this old thing? I've decided that it's really time to step up and flaunt it, because, after all, I've got it!
I also have the Isntree Real Mugwort Clay Mask, which is currently the best thing ..read more

It has become apparent to me over time that I have very champagne tastes for someone who should really be trying to live life on more of a beer (or rather, alcoholic ginger beer) budget. Despite regularly getting skincare and makeup sent to me, I still spend a large part of my weekly pay on things that bring me joy in the form of Sephora/Mecca/Cult Beauty/insert name of store here, as well as bargain flights with Jetstar - the addiction is real, y'all!
I've also noticed that over the last few months, I've been featuring a number of not so budget friendly products, and while ..read more

My little mittens (read: hands) have been feeling all chapped and sad this Winter. You think I would be used to it by now, given that I have plenty of experience with Winter, having about 20 plus years of them under my belt by this point, and all of the hand washing I've had to do as part of my job, scrubbing into surgery regularly. And of course, let's not even mention that COVID years, when we stepped up the hand washing!
Hence, it's of little surprise that my hands need lots of loving attention, and a sure fire way of keeping my hands happy is making sure that I don't skimp on my ev ..read more

The weather has been a real mixed bag lately, with the intermittent showers, the sideways storms, and the drying temperatures. As a result of this, my skin has felt a little bit of everything, and it has been dry to being a little tacky, and somewhat itchy. Fun, right? Thankfully, for days when my skin seems to have a mind of it's own, and much like my cat, can't decide what it wants, Avene is around to help me bring it back to it's baseline.
Avene is one of those brands that I reach for when my skin has been getting irritated, or has flared up from environmental aggressors, whether th ..read more

I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes, I find products that I end up liking out of the blue. I mean, it's like when things just fall into my lap, you know? For example, a few months back, I attended a little soiree for one of my favourite Aussie singers, Amber Lawrence, who has some really fantastic country songs, and she always has such an upbeat attitude, and it was a birthday bash of sorts, but the attendees were the ones that walked away with presents in the form of adult party bags!
I was lucky enough to find the ACTIVEAUSSIE Skincare Powerful Lightweight Daily E ..read more

I feel like there's been a bit of a shift in the weather lately, in that it has gotten colder, but not necessarily drier, and that may be because of all that rain, or perhaps it's because I've been using the right combination of skincare recently, or more likely, it's a combination of all of the above. Whatever the case may be, I have to say, I'm very grateful that I have recently discovered the Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream, because this has been dreamy on my skin!
If you're not familiar with Glow Recipe, I'd be shocked - I mean, no offense, but have you been hiding under a ..read more

Happy Thursday! It's been a big week for me already, starting my Monday off with a bang at the hair expo as a hair model for a friend, which, while exciting and fun, did take a zap out of me, as an introvert. Life of the indoor cat, I guess! That said, I would totally do that again, so stay tuned for another major hair makeover next year! What's silly about the event, though, was that I didn't quite realise that I needed to be on stage in order to have my hair judged! The good news was, however, that while my hair was being kept up by constant spritzes of hair spray, I didn't have to wo ..read more
