has become an increasingly popular term these days (see the Virtual Conference on Humanizing Mathematics, hosted by Sam Shah and Hema Khodai, if you missed it this summer), particularly as terms like equity have become co-opted. In 2018, I accidentally on purpose only read fiction by Asian & Asian American authors (using the term broadly to include people identifying as having East Asian, Central Asian, Southeast Asian, and Pacific Islander backgrounds; this year's list did not include any South Asian authors, although if that's what you're specifically looking for I have suggestions from my 2019 and 2017-and-before lists).
