After seeing a promotional article dubbing the “50 Best Beaches in the World” for 2024, I had …thoughts. As someone who has been to probably close to a thousand beaches all over the world, I could only agree with about ten of the listed “best beaches”, so I decided to make my own list. One of the smaller beaches on La Digue in the Seychelles BUT! My list is a bit more general, and names countries or destinations with many beautiful beaches to explore. This is partially because I don’t think it’s feasible to travel across the world to see one beach, and I also don’t want to contribute to overcr ..read more

My Life's A Movie

If you’re looking to make the most out of an Abu Dhabi long layover on a budget, I have just found the ultimate hack! As you probably know or assume, Abu Dhabi is pretty expensive, especially when it comes to getting around, so this hack takes care of that! DCIM\100GOPRO\GOPR8422.JPG Also, if your layover is only a few hours long, this probably won’t work, it works best with a full day or overnight layover! If your flight has a layover in Abu Dhabi that’s short, try searching “multi city” on Sky scanner, and add Abu Dhabi as an overnight stop in between! Ok here’s my Abu Dhabi long layover on ..read more

Travel Stories: Accidentally Engaged and Living on a Vineyard in Italy
My Life's A Movie
by

Yes you read that correctly, I recently got engaged in Italy and am currently living on my fiance’s vineyard for the summer in Sardinia, after traveling solo here last year and meeting him! (But note! I am still traveling around 6 months per year, and I still have my epic little apartment in Tulum that I own and rent out when I’m not there!) My cute beach proposal in Sardinia…that came after a long ring-saga, and having to send videos to him to try to explain how you propose properly. Everything about this has seemed incredibly fateful and part of the universe’s plan for me, and it’s one of my ..read more

My Life's A Movie

A recent article dubbing this year’s “50 Best Beaches in the World” named Cala Mariolu as number two, and Cala Gororitze as number nineteen, and I just so happen to be living right next to them! So, I set off on a little excursion along the Baunei Coast, to go check it out, and decide if they’re worthy of the number two and nineteen spots, as well as being considered one of the best Sardinia beaches! Just to preface; I have been to A LOT of beaches in the world, and last year I had specifically traveled to Italy upon hearing of the idyllic coves and Sardinia beaches around La Maddalena Island ..read more

13 Ways to Avoid Summer Travel Anxiety
My Life's A Movie
by

Every post on social media is making us fully aware of the summer travel anxiety that may soon ensue. Don’t worry, I’ve already been through it, I’ve felt that awful heart fluttering, feelings of panic. And made it out alive. Well, by “alive”, I mean, without a panic attack or wishing bad things upon small screaming children or rude passengers. Also, I have previously suffered extreme PTSD anxiety after a series of accidents a few years ago. I mostly have it under control now, but it flares up in situations like crowded chaotic airports and planes. Here’s everything I do to avoid it, and keep ..read more

How to Pack a Carry On Using Travel Compression Bags
My Life's A Movie
by

It’s usually a bit shocking when I tell people I only pack one carry on for long term travel, especially since my Instagram makes it seem like I travel with an entire mobile wardrobe. But it’s true! *2024 UPDATE: Full disclosure, I wrote this post almost 10 years ago, and I definitely rarely travel with just a carry on since I travel full time, but the types are still very on point for anyone wanting to travel with just a carry-on! All I use is a sturdy hardshell cary-on sized suitcase, and a whole lot of packing tricks and techniques that I’ve figured out during the last six months of full-t ..read more

Everest Basecamp VS Kilimanjaro: Which is Harder?
My Life's A Movie

Now that I have successfully trekked both Everest Basecamp and Kilimanjaro summit, I can give my comparisons, and my opinion on which was more difficult. Spoiler alert: BOTH were difficult. Neither is just a cute and scenic walk through a National Park, or a trendy jog around Runyon Canyon. Both are intense, extreme, and do require a certain level of physical and mental preparedness. Another spoiler alert: Overall, EBC was harder, however the hardest day out of both hikes, was the summit of Kilimanjaro.
