SuePJ: If you’ve got any trees I can highly recommend mowing on a high cut over fallen leaves, that way you get a superb light mulch which is a mix of grass cuttings and chopped up leaves which stop the grass becoming too manky I saw this in action just today. Walking down Clifton down into Clifton, which is a long, broad tree lined avenue, the council had a big machine which was basically shredding the fallen leaves and cutting the grass. Then a guy with a very powerful leaf blower was following behind spreading it out. Mulching in action is what I thought watching them ..read more

Actually Jane, the incident happened two days before I left for UK. I have my daughter visiting from US who is pregnant. I have had a message from Marie to say that my wall is with Prosecutor, confIrmed by an architect and member of Marie who is a friend. I now have an official acting on my behalf. I have not returned to France for personal reasons, also I am unable to do anything as not proficient in language as many other Brits. I put my input on here for positive advice not petty dissemination of the use of kosher as correct! Positive comments only please ..read more

Basic hi-vis is a bit sweaty - it’s only meant to be worn for a short time while you’re standing by the side of the road freezing in the rain, or sweltering under the sun. OTOH chasseurs’ new obligatory dayglo camo isn’t great for walking, as it’s not usually made of modern technical fabrics. And most of the really good outdoor gear seems increasingly to eschew vibrant colours. However after seventeen years’ service, my olive coloured rucksack needs replacing and I think something like this is the way to go Sac à dos haute visibilité (t2sworkwear.fr ..read more

Suzan: have requested assistance from defender of rights Why? You don’t yet seem to have any official notice of anything. The défenseur des droits can intervene when public authorities fail in their duties. But you have no official complaint, nothing in writing - as far as I can see this is all gossip from people you know at a distance. You have not copied what actually has been sent to you (in French) I have a feeling you may well be making the situation worse, and had you come to France and talked to the Maire, none of this would be happening ..read more
