Debbie and her family are fundraising veterans for many charities, including The Myton Hospices.
Debbie’s dad, known as GeeGee to his granddaughters, was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in spring 2020. This understandably shattered the family.
Debbie said:
He was always the strong one, a serving police officer for 40 years. He was also physically fit and worked hard on his allotment everyday. Coming to terms with his diagnosis was difficult, but we pulled together and he tackled it head on.
That summer, Kimmy’s school ran a challenge to keep the children fit ..read more

In the summer of 2018, when I saw the look on my GP’s face I knew immediately that I had cancer for the third time.
In 2008 it was renal cancer and the decision was made to operate and remove the tumour, and what remained of my left kidney.
I walked into University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and a week later walked out, albeit 6kg lighter; the weight of the offending beast!
Soon after, I was invited to take part in a 10-year clinical trial for a new drug. The trial had the benefit of regular x-rays and scans.
One scan took place in the autumn of 2017 and ..read more

16-year-old Abi Rowberry has performed at a few of our Myton events, including our Volunteer Tea Party and our Butterfly Effect campaign.
Abi has also performed on our inpatient unit for staff, volunteers, patients and their families.
From this, Abi was inspired to write her own song based on her experiences at Myton.
She said:
I was inspired to write the song after coming to Warwick Myton Hospice to play to the patients. I was so moved and inspired I was compelled to write a song. Generally, I really struggle to write songs but I was so moved by the experie ..read more

Whether you’ve already been through it, are currently going through it, or will never go through it, there’s no ignoring that the menopause is an issue which will affect roughly half of the worlds population in their lifetimes – but do we talk about it enough?

Could you help shape our services by becoming a member of our Patient and Public Involvement Group?

How we develop the services we deliver
Changes to how we use our buildings and spaces

However, this year, Richard is finally ticking something off his bucket list by taking part in our Skydive.
Richard, Lorraine and Carrie’s mother, Sandra, was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in 2018 and was given a prognosis of 12 months.

The curtains have come down on the Royal Spa Centre’s most successful ever festive fundraising season – all in aid of The Myton Hospices.
A fabulous £12,751 was donated by visitors to the 34 performances of this year’s Christmas offering – Cinderella.
Huge thanks to Warwick District Council and the Royal Spa Centre for selecting Myton as their chosen Charity of the Year, to our amazing army of volunteers who collected after the shows, and last, but definitely by no means least, the fabulous panto-goers who donated so generously at each and every performance to raise such an ama ..read more
