We’re only a few weeks away from our annual Rugby Ramble, taking place on Saturday 9th March 2024, sponsored by Thatchers Cider! Hundreds of people join in every year, and we cannot wait for the big day next month! It isn’t too late to sign up for the upcoming event and register here.
The Rugby Ramble, formerly known as the Men’s March, is a 10-mile charity walk that starts at the Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare. Attendees will journey along the coastline, through Weston Woods, and ending back at the Grand Pier.

A lady from Wrington who is taking part in Weston Hospicecare’s Strictly Fun Dancing next month has said the hospice helped her family at a time of need.
Strictly Fun Dancing sees amateur couples train for ten weeks to learn ballroom dancing with professional teachers from Salsa Vida prior to taking part in a Grand Finale.
Penny Gunter’s husband Malcolm was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in May 2017.
Roughly a year later, he died after spending just a few hours at Weston Hospicecare’s In-patient Unit (IPU).

A daughter from Somerset has shared her story with Weston Hospicecare about the care for her mum, who was being cared for terminal cancer.
Teri McDonald, from Somerset, says “The hospice is an angel service and you’ll never be disappointed, ever!” after the charity cared for her mum, Mandy, before her death in November 2022.

Today, Friday 29 September, has been a momentous day in Weston Hospicecare’s 30 year plus history.

Weston Hospicecare has today (29 September) officially opened its new Day Services facility within Jackson-Barstow House in Uphill following a major redevelopment.
The move will transform care in the region by providing patients with improved access to specialist care and quality of support after a life-limiting illness diagnosis.
The Day Services allow patients to visit the hospice weekly and have access to a range of activities, complementary therapies, specialist information and advice, medical consultations, and peer support.

A team made up of friends, family and the #NoExcuses community are getting ready to tackle Weston Hospicecare’s Moonlight Beach Walk.
The event takes place annually on Weston seafront and sees ladies light up the night as they take on a 5k or 10k route.
Traditionally hundreds of women team-up to walk for Weston Hospicecare.
Stacey Ford is one of many walking in memory of her best friend of Sarah Flourentzou Lucas.

Eagle-eyed customers would have spotted Weston Hospicecare are now offering sustainable carrier bags in store.
Large bags cost £1 while the smaller bags cost 50p. Supporters are encouraged to used their owns bags where possible but this option provides a super convenient and sustainable option.
