Staff and volunteers from St Luke’s Hospice are once again offering their fantastic Christmas Tree Collection service to the local area to raise vital funds for patient care. In January, more than 60 volunteers and St Luke’s staff will be working together to collect thousands of used Christmas trees in the area. Last year they were able to raise over £40,000 in donations for the Hospice and hope to match it again this year. A stunning 28ft Christmas tree is bringing festive cheer to St Luke’s Hospice thanks to the generosity of local councils. The beautiful illuminated tree, kindly donated by Winsford, Northwich and Middlewich Town Councils, is standing proud in the courtyard outside the Hospice’s Inpatient Unit for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers to enjoy. The pride of St Luke’s is now officially the Pride of Britain! 86 year-old St Luke’s Hospice fundraiser, Vera Rogers from Winsford, has been named the winner of The Pride of Britain North West Regional Fundraiser Award. The new Town Mayor of Winsford has pledged his ongoing support to St Luke’s Hospice. Councillor Ernie Welch visited the Hospice for a tour of the facility, accompanied by the Junior Mayor Lily Atkin aged 9.
