The Scotland Women’s U19 squad began what could be memorable 2024 season with a trip to the Bradfield College festival last week. Fourteen players spent a week together near Reading training, bonding as a team and playing four fixtures in four days, as preparations began for the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup Qualifier, which takes place in Aberdeen in August. Cricket Scotland can today confirm the postponement of the Men’s ICC CWCL2 fixtures between Scotland, Namibia, and Oman, scheduled for 2-12 May. The series, due to take place at Forfarshire CC, will now go ahead on new dates in July at the same venue. The decision to postpone has been taken following consultation and agreements between the three competing nations and the ICC. The recent adverse weather affecting much of Scotland has severely hampered the preparation of pitches and the wider ground infrastructure at Forthill. The East League Management Group (ELMG) have confirmed that the Eastern Premier League fixtures scheduled for Saturday April 27 will be moved to Saturday August 31. This delay to the season start will hopefully give ground staff the chance to prepare a pitch for the opening weekend, which will now be Saturday May 4. This decision was taken in light of the exceptionally prolonged spell of wet weather, recognising that ground staff need longer to prepare their square in readiness for a new season.
