This city is so bloomin’ big isn’t it? Every time I think I get to grips with a corner of it, there’s suddenly new nooks and crannies that I’m yet to discover. Last week, we went to visit London Bridge, an area I pass through so often but never really spend much time there. And really, that’s a crime! The place is bustling with touristy stuff, arts, lovely hotels to stay in, foodie delights and cultural crevices to really get into. Here’s what we got up to! I’ve always wanted someone to take me up The Shard (wheyyyy) but it’s just one of those London things I’ve never done. The viewing platfor ..read more

This year I decided to make a London Bucket list. Tired as I am of always thinking ‘I really should do that’, I wanted to make more of this GLORIOUS city and do more varied things. Given that I tend to eat out a lot, a lot of my London bucket list pertains to food. I wanted to be more adventurous and eat at more exciting places rather than just always grabbing sandwiches from Pret and downloading Pizza Express vouchers (but also I do love me a Calabrese sweet baby cheesus). One of the top things on my bucket list was to have curry on Brick Lane. Having been to uni in Birmingham (BIG UP  T ..read more

Love it or hate it Valentines Day is upon us. In truth, I’ve always loved Valentines Day because I’m a BIG SOPPY SOFTIE (even though lollllllllllllllll this is the first year ever I’ve had a boyfriend for it) but I do appreciate that others despise all the red hearts and pink satin. HOWEVER. The gorgeous Ben’s Canteen in Battersea has exciting menus that cater for all, whether you j’adore it or abhor it! Just a hop, skip and a jump from Clapham Junction station, Ben’s is a properly lovely neighbourhood restaurant. There’s a banging brunch menu, and a drool-worthy list of burgers to umm and ah ..read more

Le Gateau Chocolate- Icons

I love me some drag. Something about drag queens just speaks to my soul. I don’t know whether it’s the glitter, the sass or the wholehearted embracing of being outside of the normal, but I just love it. I have eaten up season after season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race and the unbelievable beauty of these Queens. However, a couple of weeks ago at Soho Theatre, I experienced a new kind of Drag. Something more raw and more real, yet still absolutely dripping in sequins and sass. And that my friends, was Le Gateau Chocolat. I mean please. How utterly fabulous. This Nigerian Born Babe (real name&nbs ..read more

Shakshuka at Cafe Loren

I love a full English breakfast as much as the next Brit. Pile my plate high with bacon, beans, eggs and sausage and I’m a happy morning bunny. However, there are times when I just fancy a little summin summin different and on these occasions, I love me some shakshuka. For those who aren’t familiar with this BLOOMING DELICIOUS Middle Eastern breakfast beast, it is softly poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce, usually mopped up with challah bread. I recently popped along to Cafe Loren in Camden, who specialise in shakshuka to see what they had to offer. Hidden within Camden Market, Cafe Loren is ..read more

As a twentysomething trying to scrape a meagre living in the Big Smoke, luxury hotels are always waaaay out of my budget for a night away. However, cheaper hotels don’t necessarily mean rubbish hotels, as I discovered a couple of weeks ago. On a drizzly Monday evening, He and I were invited by Accor Hotels for a night at the London Euston St Pancras Ibis. I’ve actually never stayed with this chain before but the promise of a saucy staycation with my beau in crisp hotel sheets was way too good to pass up. AND MAN ALIVE I WAS SO SURPRISED! It was SO lovely. The foyer is a huge open space, with m ..read more

Whenever I think of Roman food, I’m always reminded of this scene from the one and only Life of Brian I mean, I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to food, but I’m not hugely keen on the idea of wolf’s nipples! However, a new concept restaurant has opened in the heart of the city with a focus on Roman inspired food and drink. Built on the site of an Ancient Roman fort a short walk from Tower Hill station, Roma has opened it’s doors to the public to show them the true beauty of this culinary history, and I was lucky enough to be invited down for the launch party. With big glasses of red in our ..read more

Bet there’s an awful lot of you reading this post who are HUGE Harry Potter fans. You could quote the books, discuss which Hogwarts house you’d be in and what your wand would be made out of for hours. J.K Rowling is your Kween and you constantly screenshot her tweets to whatsapp to your pals with a crown emoji. But how many of you Potterheads know much about the charity she founded, Lumos? I didn’t know jack about it until I was approached and asked if I’d consider becoming an ambassador for the charity. And my my my I have learnt so much. The charity works tirelessly to help the 8 million ch ..read more

Do you have those places that you must have walked past a thousand times and yet never actually gone into? I must have pounded the streets surrounding Covent Garden and walked past iconic French restaurant Le Garrick  practically a bajillion trillion times (approx) and yet I only sampled its delights a couple of weeks ago. London is so saturated with new foodie crazes and pop-up palaces and groovy restaurant openings that places that have stood the test of time often get overlooked. However, sometimes it’s worth paying these gastronomic veterans a visit- they’re clear ..read more

All over London there are hidden gems. Little restaurants you may not have heard of, museums showcasing weird and wonderful items and bars that will serve you the world’s greatest alcoholic beverages in pretty much any receptable you can imagine. I’m super lucky that with this ‘ere blog I get to regularly exercise my curious nature and investigate lots of these sparkling big smoke diamonds. However, I feel like I peaked last week with a visit to Little Nan’s Rio Bar. Hidden away underneath the might Rio Cinema in Dalston, this is perhaps the most brilliantly bonkers bar I have ever had the pl ..read more
