In the summer of 2021 we had the opportunity to travel to the beautiful country of Croatia. It was our first time in the Balkans and it did not disappoint! Croatia is a stunning country with really diverse landscapes to suit anyone’s adventure style. When people think of the country generally, the gorgeous islands, beaches, and the old town of Dubrovnik are the first images that come to mind. However, there is so much more to Croatia than just the beaches! Do you want great history, colorful towns, cute wineries and hilltop towns, and expansive lush green views that resemble the Tuscany countr ..read more

Hello everyone! I know I have been MIA for quite awhile now and I don’t have much of an explanation for it other than…life happens! During my absence I had entered into a fulfilling new career field that allowed me to help startups and entrepreneurs from around the world immigrate to the United States. It was such a refreshing change from my old career path (commercial real estate appraisal) which I had no passion for at all. My family are also Cambodian refugees so it was really rewarding coming full circle and giving back in some way to the immigrant community. I grew and excelled quickly in ..read more

It’s hard to believe that just about 5 months ago we were exploring the beautiful country of Italy. The lively and friendly spirits, beautiful scenery, delectable cuisines, and the iconic history is something I’ll never forget and I already have plans to return to Italy again one day soon. Fast forward to now in 2020 during this awful time of the COVID-19 pandemic and my heart truly aches for the pain that this gorgeous country is going through. Reading about the overwhelmed healthcare system and the many deaths is so heartbreaking and I honestly wish there was more I could do personally. I re ..read more

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year (tied with summer) and our trails truly turn magical this time of year. We are blessed to have some of the most colorful hikes in the U.S.A and the weather is also perfect in early fall (and there are less bugs!). Unfortunately my outdoor fall adventures this year weren’t as plentiful because I was out of the country for October and I also always tend to get very sick during this time of year. That being said I still was able to get a few beautiful hikes in so I hope you enjoy another yearly seasonal recap of my favorite adventures! Be sure to che ..read more

Southern Sri Lanka Adventures
The Introvert's Journey

Sri Lanka is well known for its plethora of sandy beaches that are perfect for surfing and often times offer the chill laid back vibes that islands such as Bali are well known for. By the time we hit the end of our trip I was so ready for some much needed beach time and couldn’t wait to get down south! Much to my surprise, the south coast wasn’t my favorite portion of the trip (the winner of that goes to Ella and the central highlands region) but the locations we did get to explore down south were all very fun and very beautiful. If you’re short on time like we were, I’m laying out all the pla ..read more

Ella, Sri Lanka Guide: My favorite place in Sri Lanka!
The Introvert's Journey

During my trip to Sri Lanka I wholeheartedly believed that the south coast was going to be my favorite area of the whole trip because I’m a huge beach person. In reality it was the town of Ella and its surrounding areas that made my heart swoon. As a nature lover and someone who hikes often, Ella and the surrounding Hill Country of Sri Lanka was a dream come true. There’s a plethora of things to do in the outdoors from gorgeous peaks to hike, to towering waterfalls, to colonial-era railways, and endless views of lush green tea plantations. The climate is also a bit cooler in this area which ma ..read more

Sri Lanka has been at the very top of my bucket list since I was in middle school. I remember pointing to a map at this little (not so little actually) island and declaring that I would go there one day. I couldn’t tell you why I randomly chose this country but who knew that I would make that random middle school dream a reality as an adult! I started seeing Sri Lanka pop up in my travel research more and more and knew I had to finally check this beautiful country off my bucket list so we decided to visit 2 countries for our honeymoon and of course Sri Lanka was one of them. Tourism had been g ..read more

Chances are if you have dreams of visiting Thailand that the beautiful images of places like Phi Phi Island and Railay Beach have caught your attention at some point. While places like these are now pretty touristy and crowded I will say that there is no shortage of gorgeous Thai islands to choose from when deciding on your next beach vacation destination and there’s something to suit every taste. For our honeymoon I really wanted to go to Koh Lipe and I had a couple other islands in mind as well but since we decided to also visit Sri Lanka during our honeymoon we were a bit short on time.
