Audi R8 V10 Buyers Guide (Second Generation)
Exotic Car Hacks

The introduction of the 2nd generation Audi R8 V10 arrived in 2017. It marked a new era for Audi’s halo car, replacing the much-loved original first generation Audi R8 that has been around since 2008. The task of creating a new R8 was daunting for Audi, given the outstanding success of the first generation. Many of its features are shared with the Lamborghini Huracan, these feature the 5.2L V10 engine, AWD system, and carbon-and-aluminum structure. Although the 2nd generation R8 has a more angular and aggressive design, it has departed from the original R8's iconic side blade. But make no ..read more

This is a car you may have seen showing up in the weekly newsletters a bit more in the last 90 days, and that’s because it is slowly but surely becoming hackable. This is good news to those looking for newer body/tech daily drivers that are also obsessed with the German engineering feel. The car launched into production back in 2019 and quickly started raising eyebrows since the M line was added to with this specific model. Like the M6, this car comes in both coupe and gran coupe (sedan) body styles, so it can work for those who want a sports car or a performance sedan. It also comes in a conv ..read more

Aston Martin V8/V12 Vantage Buyers Guide

The modern evolution of a timeless classic will be the focus of our buyer’s guide today. A car that has taken the world and us hackers by storm and kept us in a chokehold for ages, the Aston Martin Vantage. Most seasoned hackers, myself included, have owned one of the previous generations of this model in either engine configuration at least once or twice. For me about 3 or 4… but that just means I liked it. These cars are great hacks, the depreciation curve is predictable, the badge is impressive, and the drive is easy enough not to scare you but enjoyable enough to where you won’t be bored w ..read more

BMW Alpina XB7 Buyers Guide

Recently, I put the wifey and baby girl in a 2021 BMW Alpina XB7 SUV for under $100K, and I couldn’t be happier. Sure the price is excellent, and since we are approaching the end of the year (written in Sept 2023), this is a car that most certainly qualifies for Section 179, but even more than that, this thing is badass. Right now, in my fleet, I have this SUV and my Urus Performante. These cars couldn’t be more different from each other. I enjoy my Urus from a baller standpoint, but believe me, the Alpina is the one that will get the most use because it is more comfortable, more spacious, and ..read more

This isn’t a car I have talked much about when it comes to hacks in the Aston Martin realm or the grand tourer body style. And I am not entirely sure if I regret that or not, maybe you can tell me your thoughts when you finish reading. Created as a replacement for the DB9, the DB11 circulated through the production market from 2017 and just had its reign ended in 2023 with the announcement of the DB12 in May of 2023. It is offered in both a coupe and volante (convertible) variation and still boasts a true Aston Martin design throughout the body and interior. By this, I mean absolute luxury wit ..read more

I know some of you will think I lost my mind when you see this is the most recently posted Buyers Guide. I promise you I haven’t. Well, not yet anyway. The Cadillac Escalade is one of those SUVs that is underrated in the hack world. Perhaps that is my fault as I have always taught you that it needs an “exotic” badge to be considered. I am here to rectify that… however, I want it to be clear that the NEW Cadillac Escalade is the EXCEPTION to the rule, not a new rule in itself. Also, with some of the other Buyers Guides I have on this blog, we only talk about the HACKable years and trims of cert ..read more

Ferrari 812 Buyers Guide

The Ferrari site says it on the car’s home page: “Shift to the 12th Dimension.” As a man who loves studying consciousness, I was immediately intrigued. However, more than just a catchy tagline, the Ferrari 812 Superfast at the time of release was the fastest and most powerful Ferrari yet. This is a new model for the Italian powerhouse of performance, and whenever a fresh face shows itself in the age-old line up, the question is asked by many: what does this new model achieve? Given that we were handed an iconic V12 beast in the Ferrari F12, the 812 had to offer something different, arguably be ..read more

Rolls Royce Dawn Buyers Guide

If I have repeatedly bought a specific make/model of a car, it means I love it. Not like it, love it. The Dawn is perhaps the most evident example of that statement as I have owned damn near half a dozen at this point (May of 2023). But what can I say? Find me a hotter, more prestigious drop-top that fits in a garage and breaks necks when lowered tastefully and paird with some OEM+ style wheels. You can’t, and until you can I will more than likely always keep a Dawn in my garage. With summer approaching, the time to think about the convertible you never knew you needed is now. So keep reading ..read more
