Bethesda's free next-gen update for Fallout 4 has a variety of issues across all platforms. Following its rollout on April 25th, players have taken to the web to report a litany of problems, particularly on Steam. On Reddit, PC players note that many of the bugs that were supposed to be addressed in the update have not actually been fixed. What's more, the implementation of the supposed patch means that mods that some PC players created to work around these issues in the first place are also no longer functional. One user said the game is also now unplayable on Steam Deck following the update ..read more

To be transparent, of those 29 fatalities, some included crashes with other vehicles or other cars hitting the Tesla. Leaked Pixel 8a ads point to seven years of security updates

Leaked advertisements for Google's upcoming Pixel 8a suggest the search giant's budget phone will get seven years of updates. Android Headlines published the ads, which highlight several features of the Pixel 8a. However, the most notable is the ad touting that the Pixel 8a is made to last and it specifically mentions "seven years of security updates." While seven years of support is great, notably, the ad says security updates, not software updates. The fine print doesn't do much to clarify, saying it will receive "Pixel updates" for seven years. That could mean the Pixel 8a will only get a ..read more

Nintendo Switch 2 may feature magnetic Joy-Cons, not support existing ones: report

The successor to the Nintendo Switch might feature magnetic Joy-Cons, according to a new rumour. Citing sources at peripherals manufacturers, Spanish outlet Vandal (via VGC), says Nintendo's next console, colloquially referred to as the 'Switch 2,' will have magnetic stripes on either side of the display. Joy-Cons, the wand-like Switch controllers, will then attach to these magnets. However, this raises a few questions that Vandal wasn't able to fully answer -- chief among them whether the Switch 2 will support existing Joy-Cons. After all, these gamepads attach to the Switch d ..read more

The Writers Guild of Canada (WGC) is ready for a strike. On Thursday night, the WGC revealed that 96.5 percent of eligible members have voted to authorize a strike should it fail to reach a new deal with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA). In a statement, WGC executive director Victoria Shen said this is the first strike authorization in the guild's 33-year history. "We believe a labour dispute would be extremely damaging to the domestic Canadian film and television production sector and we remain focused on successfully concluding negotiations," said Sean Porter, the CMPA's vice ..read more

Telus-owned Public Mobile changed up some of its plans and killed off its 3G offerings, following in the footsteps of Bell's Lucky Mobile. First up, Public decreased its $55/mo 100GB 5G plan to $50/mo. Previously, the plan was available for $50 on a 90-day subscription, but Public has axed that option and made the plan's price $50 for a regular monthly subscription. The other notable change is the removal of Public's $26/mo 4GB 4G plan and $25/1GB 3G plan. Instead, customers can now get Public's $29/20GB 4G plan for $25/mo on a 90-day subscription. There's also a $21/mo 3GB 4G plan ($19/mo o ..read more

As Canadians prepare to boycott the major grocery store chains owned by Loblaws over rising food costs, it's worth pointing out that Shoppers Drug Mart is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the grocery chain. This boycott has spread on social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook and Twitter as users share high food prices, examples of shrinkflation and more. Over the last few weeks, Reddit users have slowly started organizing a real boycott of all the major grocery store chains in Canada, but chief among them is Loblaws. Rogers, Start.ca leave Ontario resident with terrible temporary internet line for months

Given how high the cost of internet is in Canada, you'd think people would at least get decent service. But that's not always the case -- sometimes you end up with a temporary line weaved through your fence and your neighbours' backyards that doesn't get fixed for months. Such was the case for Noel Lamothe, whom MobileSyrup connected with after his picture (above) of a shoddy internet installation popped off on the website formerly known as Twitter. The installation was part of a nine-month fight with his internet service provider (ISP) and Rogers' technicians. Lamothe signed up with Start.ca ..read more
