Anyone else got ‘into the thick of it’ stuck in their head now? Happy Sunday, folks! How are we doing? Hopefully your first week of 2022 has been productive and/or just a good time! I started strong with a Big Clean in my flat, and ended up a bit broken by the end of the week and struggled with getting myself co-ordinated. The joys of a mental health struggle, really! But I digress, how about some handmade plus size style for you this week? Soooo these photos are actually from the end of November, and if I’m completely honest, I really didn’t like the photos. It’s been a while since I stood i ..read more

Plus size sewists; welcome to your brand new bible! Hey friends! How are we doing this week? I’m struggling with the change in weather, but the smell of autumn evenings are keeping me above water. That and the cat, but we’ve gone over my crazy cat lady in last week’s blurb. Today, instead, I wanted to talk about a project I modelled for back in April! And so here’s a little first look at the first ever book by the gorgeous and talented Jenny Rushmore. So here’s a look at Ahead of the Curve by Cashmerette! Before we get into this; I’m always trying to be as open as possible where my posts come ..read more

Another Gingham Dress — Plus Size Lyra Dress

I’d call this ‘Last of the summer gingham’ but I’ve already named a dress that. Hello friends! How are we all doing? It’s been a few weeks since my last post — well, because honestly I’m having a crisis in whether or not I want to carry on having a traditional blog. Doing the whole blogger/influencer thing in a world where social media is actively working against you sucks. I do enjoy writing and doing little photoshoots for my blog, however, so maybe things aren’t so bad. And today I wanted to show off something I’ve made for once! So here is my plus size Lyra dress from Tilly and the Buttons ..read more

Let’s talk about more sewing! Now. If you didn’t pay attention to my Instagram last week (or the algorithm has ruined my reach yet again), you may have missed something cool. I got to model again! So here’s a little show-off of me modelling for the Tilly and The Buttons Skye dress! All photography is by Jane Looker. Tilly and The Buttons Skye Dress I’ve actually followed Tilly and her company journey since roughly 2011 when I first started getting into sewing for myself. I’ve been sewing since I was 14 years old, but focussed on the designing aspect of clothing whilst I was doing Fashion BTE ..read more

Will I ever stop being obsessed with gingham? Unlikely. Hello and welcome to Saturday! I hope you’re all doing well? I’ve pulled myself out of a lovely bout of depression and finally getting some stuff up on the blog — hooray me! So this dress isn’t exactly hot off the machine, but I only went and made something again, didn’t I? So today I’m looking like a whole goddamn picnic and showing off some plus size sewing I’ve done! Yes, it’s gingham. Yes, it’s another Charm Patterns Cinch-It Dress. This time with sleeves and stuff! I actually made this dress for my birthday back at the end of May, b ..read more

Handmade Outfits of The Week — Me Made May 2021

It’s… still May, I suppose? Morning, friends! Hope everyone is doing well? Life is straight up kicking my arse at the moment, but I suppose it’s doing that for most people right now. England, for some wonderful reason, has decided to be the literal worst weather-wise. One second the sun is beating down on you, the next second is torrential rain. I think it may have snowed at some point too. It’s literally ridiculous at the moment, and really isn’t helping my brain function correctly. However, I’m still using Me Made May as an excuse to wear actual clothes, so here’s some handmade outfits of th ..read more

Tuesday is the new Monday, clearly. Happy Tuesday! The plan for weekly outfit posts was originally to be done on Mondays. So, do I always stick to that? Nah. That would be organised of me. So hi and happy Tuesday, friends! How are you all doing? Life’s difficult, getting out of bed is difficult, etcetera. And so we carry on. I’m still working from home mostly, which helps with my tiredness and general disorganisation at the moment. But it’s also really easy to spend all day in pyjamas. I’m really happy that I’m consciously choosing to wear more of my handmade items at the moment. Especially si ..read more

I wish I knew where the year has gone! Sup friends! How are we all doing? It’s suddenly May, and I honestly don’t know what I’ve done with the year so far. May happens to be my favourite month of the year, though! Spring is well underway, the weather gets a bit nicer and nature comes back to life. It also happens to be Me Made May, a sewing community challenge. Oh, and the end of the month is my Birthday, too. Add the 31st to those diaries, folks! I want birthday cards ;). But now, let’s focus on some outfits and Me Made May 2021, yes? Now. I love Me Made May, I love showing off my handmade ou ..read more

It’s a glorified MuuMuu and I LOVE IT. Okay. So. Remember when I used to sew? Yeah, me either. I lost a lot of my interest in sewing in the latter half of last year, mainly because of the lack of patterns for plus sizes that I actually wanted to sew. As a plus size sewist that mostly makes vintage-style clothing, you’d think there was a plethora of patterns available for that sort of style, right? Well, there is, in a way — but the majority, if not all of them, require so much work. You get to a point of changing patterns so much that you might as well just do your own. And I’m relatively lazy ..read more

Hello friends and happy Monday morning! Yes, I realise my posts are currently all over the place. Frankly? I haven’t got a clue what day it is most of the time at the moment. Life in Coronatimes is wild, right? But I digress! Summer is well and truly over now, and as much as I love hazy sunny days, I certainly don’t miss the heat. As we go into autumn, though, I’m all about light jackets to pair with both my vintage and alternative styles! And a denim jacket? Perfect for this weather! So today I’m going to teach you step-by-step how to crop a denim jacket and alter it to fit you! Can you belie ..read more
