I thought my winter clothing game was strong... until today.
Today I went flying on the swiss alps and I had to land after 60km on a 150+ potential km day simply because I felt like I was freezing to death. I'm used to flying in cold weather, but today was simply too much to handle for me.
For reference: today we had 0° at 1500m and I mostly flew between 2600-3100m so I guesstimate I've been exposed to -10/-15°C most of the time.
The biggest issues I had today were:
frozen balaklava, to the point it got all rigid and stuck to my beard
frozen camel bag tube
frozen pee tube

In november 2022 I bought second hand gear from my school.
Now I have decided to stop with flying, what would be a reasonable price to sell it?
I am located in the Netherlands.

I’m curious if anyone here knows of some flying sites in Japan that work in early June!? Always looking for XC but I’ll take what I can get. I’m planning a trip for work and want to make sure to fit some PG in on the company’s dime:)
Thanx

Hey folks,
I wonder if anyone got some experience with (high B) 2.5 liners like the Rise 5 from airdesign. I talked to the manufacturer and they said it would behave similar to a normal glider. I know otherwise they wouldn't get the B rating... but obviously the normed tests don't show all facets of the real world.
Can someone confirm this from real life experiences or a SIV course?
Until now I didn't hear of any major downsides but the release wasn't too long ago...

Hey folks, was hoping to get a bit of advice on a primarily hike and fly harness for my first set up. I’m partially through my P1/2 course, and my instructor has encouraged me to get into an MCC Vice Versa. I’ve sat it in and it feels pretty nice, but it’s slightly bulkier and heavier than I would have envisioned for my set-up. I’ve done some research and come across the Supair Radical 4 (with airbag) as a lighter, seemingly lower volume option. I do foresee some ridge/coastal flying for this harness, but I imagine that by the time I’m ready to start thermaling/XC flying, I’ll probably be rea ..read more

Title says it all... I unfortunately did my P2 lessons at a time when I was far too busy with work travel and I didn't keep it up.
I thought paragliding might be like skiing where you can do it a couple times per year, maybe take a few years off, then get right back into it, but I realize it's really not. Seems like you really have to practice frequently or else it becomes very unsafe very quickly.
So my plan is to spend a week at a vacation destination slowly getting back into it, then once I'm back in my hometown, I'll see if I can keep up a regular practice schedule.
Thoughts? Suggestions ..read more
