I recently applied for a position in a large hospital system I previously worked for (but in a completely different department this time). I knew from the beginning that I was receiving the benefit of a "friends and family" recommendation from the president of the hospital, whom the manager of this department directly reports to. I felt fine about this because my resume is strong and I know I would be a great fit for the position, but two days after my phone screening, I got a "sorry, there were just too many better qualified candidates" rejection email. Fine. Not the end of the world. But th ..read more

While on vacation and in the middle of doing something, I got a notification for an email from a job I had applied to back in February. Unfortunately, they were holding interviews while I was on vacation, so I didn't prioritize responding then and there. I'm back from vacation and went to find the email to reply to let them know I'm still interested if they're still looking, but I can't find it anywhere. I searched the company and only found emails from Feb confirming my application, searched specific terms I remember from the email, etc. I only glanced at it for a few moments so I don't reme ..read more

I am a manager at a big company, There will be an opening for a higher position soon, I know that I'm doing pretty good at the company as higher management always compliment my work. I know that there will be few other managers applying as well, I'm only worried about one of them!! He is like 5 years more senior than I am and he is good at buttering people up!! His work isn't the best but he knows how to sell himself!! Half on the managers on my level don't like him because he's double faced and he always try to look smarter and better than others, and honestly, if he wins that position and b ..read more

bf(24) just graduated with his BS in Psychology and has a lot of volunteer experience. He's only worked big box retail and is reaching a breaking point with the toll it takes on his body. He has an interview for this position on Wednesday and he's really wanting/relying on this to pull through. • What kind of questions can he expect to answer? • What are some things they'll really want to hear? • Anything he should know about the position/line of work in general? Honestly any advice at all would be great. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Defiant_Care_7438 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

2 interviews & 3 writing assignments - now 3rd interview?

As the title suggests. I've had a screening interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager, a 1 hour virtual interview with the team lead and manager - which was the full hour of interviewing. I then got asked to complete 3 writing assignments. I submitted them at 10pm and the Talent Acquisition Manager called me by noon the next day to tell me the team was impressed with my writing and to arrange a final in-person interview, with the same team lead and Manager, but with a senior manager joining remotely as they live in another state. I'm totally confused on how to prepare for this - I feel li ..read more

Re-hire interview - explaining why I left before

I have an interview tomorrow for a company I worked for three years ago. I loved the company and the work, but the only reason I left is because they were paying me $35,000/year and that just wasn't a livable salary. The position I am interviewing for has a MUCH better yearly salary, but I am anticipating them asking why I left to begin with. Should I be honest and explain that it was because of pay, or should I find another way to frame it/another reason? submitted by /u/Current-Self-8580 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Recruiter Screen: Thursday 04/11 At the end of the call they moved me forward Interview 1: Monday 04/15 On Tuesday 04/16 they moved me forward to a final interview with hiring manager Interview 2: 04/17 I met the hiring manager. In my interview I asked when I should I expect next steps and they said tomorrow, Friday or Monday. I followed up with the recruiter on Friday first thing in the morning and they said they are meeting the hiring team that day and I should expect to hear back early next week. Considering how fast they were moving the 2 day slow is slightly concerning me. Maybe I’m desp ..read more

Is the job market getting better?

Do you guys feel the job market is getting better or is it just me? In the last month or so I had multiple recruiters reached out to me, got a few interviews and one job offer. Thing is I stopped actively applying in like December. Some recruiters mentioned they found my resume I sent them a while ago and wondered if I’m still on the market. I was just wondering if it’s just me or you also experience like in general the market is getting better? submitted by /u/lanalanana [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Hi to all! I had my second round interview almost 2 weeks ago (4/8)and was asked to provide 3 references 2 days after (4/10). They contacted 2/3 references, the 3rd missing the call, (4/16). Now it's been radio silent, what should I expect. Are these good signs or should I be really worried? submitted by /u/PokemonSL [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
