One Summer’s evening in August 2019 I found myself with my camera at this beautiful little gathering in the heart of the English countryside. The location remains a surprise. Log fires, freshly cooked and sustainably sourced produce from local farmers and communities. There is something so connecting to one’s being when you can enjoy quality outdoor home cooked food while meeting new people in an intimate and elegant surrounding. There was something for everyone. Champagne on arrival while bathed in the golden hour of the sun, followed by a candlelit dinner. Carefully chosen wine with thanks t ..read more

It was 29th November 2016. Legendary drummer, Dave Barbarossa (Bow Wow Wow, Adam & The Ants, Republica…) had seen my work from a gig I’d covered that he did and kindly recommended me as a photographer. Ian Tregoning, who has worked very closely with Andrew Weatherall throughout their successful musical careers was hosting a night at the Ministry of Sound. The photographer had pulled out and Ian was trying to find someone last minute who could do the job. As it so often is when freelance, I already had two other photoshoots that day. The gig wasn’t until midnight and Ian was so excited abou ..read more

YOUTH

YOUTH He is the bass player in Killing Joke, one of the original members of The Orb, he produced The Verve “Bitter Sweet Symphony”, Sir Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd… the list is actually huge. I can’t list them all. Youth gained global recognition and was given a lifetime achievement award as a producer in music. He’s the guy who opened the doors of his own home to a bunch of ridiculously talented hippies and let a music festival of its own kind take place in the mountains of Spain…and we all loved it. It really is unique. The third one just recently took place in October 2019. Space Mountain Co ..read more

The Boy, The Mole, The fox and The Horse

The Boy, The Mole, The fox and The Horse. I was given this book for Christmas. I had not heard of it before. As I let the book fall open I was so immediately captivated by what I could see that I had to write about it. It touches the heart strings, it understands, it comes along side, it is so beautiful. We are all different. Each character in the book represents a different type of person. As Charlie explains at the start of the book, the fox for example is more “quiet and wary as he has been hurt by life” so he doesn’t say so much. The boy is really lonely but then meets the mole. Even thou ..read more

THE MILLER’S The eve of Christmas Eve. The word on the street was that Rufus Miller and his sister Misty Miller were due to perform together at The Windmill in Brixton. I checked on this with Rufus and it was all good to go. This brother and sister duo are individual artists in their own right, so to join together this Christmas time for a gig is both fun and rare. As some of you will already know Rufus is a very highly regarded singer / songwriter. He is also the guitarist for Sting‘s band. His father Dominic Miller is also in that same band. A pretty incredible way of life for a Father a ..read more

PROFESSOR STRETCH I recall photographing the ‘Artful Badger’ at Wilderness Festival one Summer’s afternoon. It was a few years back now… don’t ask me how many. It was early evening and you know how it is at festivals, people are all shimmying their way through in their own way, but together. Suddenly in what seemed like the flick of a switch, the dance floor just vibed to the universe and people just piled into the tent from all around. Camera in hand I joined in and just started taking pictures. Everyone loving every single second of this set. The best part was that it wasn’t just for a momen ..read more

RAJA RAM The legendary and rightly named ‘Godfather of Trance’. Working with Raj, as many of you have also had the opportunity to do so, you will undoubtedly agree it is nothing less than a privilege. Not just because of his musical talent, but for the love and the joy that he brings. For his ability to bring laughter into a room – I have never laughed so much trying to edit a project as I have when working with Raj and Mr Simon Posford. I had streams of tears of giggles rolling down my face for days! These two guys are simply genius, and completely hilarious. I still laugh at times when I rec ..read more

Ronnie Wood Collection I noticed on instagram that Ronnie Wood had a pop up exhibition coming up in London. I’ve been caring for my Grandmother these past few weeks, months, so have not been going out quite so much. Perspective is a wonderful thing and when you realise that time is so limited, how I spend my time has taken on a whole new meaning. We will never get these times back again. I mentioned the exhibition to my Grandmother and she looked up from her newspaper by her zimmer frame and looked me right in the eye saying: “Oh now he IS good! Go and see that.” I had planned to go on Frid ..read more
