It’s All About That Winter Coat
Her Couture Life

That Winter Coat Living in Perth, it’s not like I can complain about the weather being cold during winter. Having a mild winter here does mean that my London coats don’t really get the same outings as they use to, but if I’m honest, there was only one that really worked the hard yards. I bought this stunner of a coat at UNIQLO a few years back, and it’s one of my wardrobe staples. 100% wool means that it’s lasted – and will continue to last. That Silk Top

The Silk Top I was having a conversation recently with one of my best friends about the benefits of buying clothes that are made of natural fibers. We were talking about the longevity of our 100% wool coats, about how we’d had them for years and they don’t pill or look worn out. Natural fiber clothes (wool, silk, cashmere just to name a few) are beneficial in just so many ways, the least being the amount of wear you’ll get out of them. Silk is one of my favourite natural fibers! Long sleeved silk tops, skirts, dresses are my jam! This silk top is my go-to when I go out for casual dinners wit ..read more

Diner en Blanc Perth 2019

Diner en Blanc Perth 2019 A few months ago I attended an event in Perth called Diner en Blanc; you had to wear a completely white outfit, meet at a mustering point of your choosing, and head off to a secret location only known to your group leader. We ended up just outside Optus Stadium, and whilst setting up our (all white) tables for dinner, watched the sun set over our beautiful Perth skyline! I love the vibe you get when attending huge events like this; the atmosphere was incredible, and I can’t WAIT to do it all again next year! I wore this gorgeous dress by Marle, which I didn’t have t ..read more

That Double Breasted Blazer

Double Breasted Blazer As we head into winter, there’s nothing I like more than wearing my double breasted blazer with a pair of jeans; it’s become my signature winter uniform. It started in when I lived in London, and wearing multiple layers was an everyday affair! These days, I don’t need to layer a coat over the top of my blazer; Perth winter weather is a little too warm for that. I bought this blazer in London, at the lovely Whistles! Although they don’t have a stand alone store in Australia, Myer stocks a range of Whistles items. I’m just having a browse now as I write this… and I think ..read more

What To Wear This Autumn
Her Couture Life

What to wear this autumn! It was a crisp 12 degrees Celsius yesterday morning as I left the house… autumn has officially hit Perth! There’s always that moment where you know that summer is most definitely over… and as much as I said to myself that I was looking forward to some cooler weather… I realised that I will always be a summer baby! However, it does mean I get to take out my gorgeous collection of jumpers! Choosing what to wear this autumn is easy with this oldie but a goodie from Witchery. Paired with some wide-legged pants, this is the perfect autumn outfit for a casual night out with ..read more

Minimalism at Night With summer drawing to an end, it’s the last chance for me to wear some of my favourite summer classics! I’ve enjoyed getting some last mileage from my favorite Zara pencil skirt and Cue crop top the last few weeks. Can’t say I’m too chuffed that I’ll have to retire these items for awhile, but I am looking forward to some cosy nights in all wrapped up in a big jumper!
