It’s finally warming up now in Denmark as we’re approaching April, and so I thought it was about time I did my seasonal capsule wardrobe switchover. Like I mentioned in my autumn capsule video last year, I truly feel like I’ve reached a point where I have a much better understanding of dressing in alignment for myself – the colour palette especially just makes me feel so happy and calm and it’s been so exciting for me to branch out into colour analysis, not just as part of my job but also as a fun journey for myself. Just as with my autumn capsule you can download my “spring capsule PDF ..read more

My favourite season is upon us; autumn is finally approaching and so today I wanted to share my autumn capsule wardrobe. If you’re a longtime follower you will recognise a lot of these piece from previous years – this is exactly why I decided to give the capsule wardrobe system a go several years ago now, and as you might see it’s really paying off; I’ve really and truly learned to dress in alignment with myself and also just learned to appreciate rewearing my clothes which is why this system is perfect (when done right at least) in terms of learning to reduce textile waste. Packing for a holiday can be a little stressful – many of us tend to bring lots of “just in case items” which will only add to the weight of your suitcase, making it overly stuffed, heavy and maybe even more expensive to check in if you’re flying. But it doesn’t have to be that way at all!  Besides possibly being charged a lower luggage-fee while you’re traveling, packing light is also a way to achieve a higher sense of calm and ease while you’re away. Making a well-curated travel capsule consisting of multi-function pieces  is a great way to spark your creativity and create vari ..read more

How to find your style through the power of WORDS

(Post compiled using inspiration from Allison Bornstein & Alyssa Beltempo) (Scroll down for Danish) Have you ever thought about what style adjectives your personal style might be connected to? For example, relaxed, functional, smart or creative? Words are powerful, and so figuring out which are the best to describe yourself and your unique style can be a huge game-changer for you.  When working with personal style and trying to figure out what your personal style actually is, it can be approached two-sided: style can be looked at as both inner and outer work. We can’t pa ..read more

What happens during a colour analysis?

What even is colour analysis, and why is it amazing? Read more about that HERE. As well as assessing the look of someone, I also take into account their style personality and profession during a colour analysis. Something that is often quite overlooked in my opinion. In its simplest form, the Colour Me Beautiful tonal system is made up of six dominant colour types. So this is the first, most important part of the analysis. I then build upon these to find your secondary and tertiary colours through what we call an advanced analysis to finetune further – and with all the combinations p ..read more

So, I had to re-write this post as my website recently moved and unfortunately the original post disappeared in the process! Anyway, one of the areas in which I’ve been trained when I became certified colour consultant was help my client find their best makeup colours. We work with 6 dominant colour types in The Tonal System (which you can see HERE). Once we’ve got your colour type established, we’ll know what makeup looks tend to work best for your colouring, and also which colours work best. For instance, I’m a SOFT/cool & light colour type – so my best makeup look is typically soft a ..read more

Back in 2021 I decided to try a so-called fashion focused low buy challenge under the hashtag #2020wehaveplenty. The challenge itself actually went okay, but by the end of the year I remember being quite shocked of how many pieces ended up finding their way to my wardrobe anyway. It became a total of 26 new items (read more here), which adds up to around 2 new pieces of clothing per month. I remember feeling a little overwhelmed by that. Because I didn’t feel like I was buying anything, really. As I wrote in my reflection post by the end of the year: “Looking at the year as a w ..read more

Fashion and psychology are connected on so many levels; not only when looking at the complexity of different societies all around the globe, but also the way we all as individuals feel when we’re dressed in clothes that are a true reflection of who we are – or who we want to be, and what we wish to achieve in life. What we wear is so much deeper than it gets recognised for. Fashion can indeed be used as a vehicle to enhance our mental well-being. At 61 I finally feel like I have found my “lane”. It’s so fun and rewarding to plan my clothes. I don’t feel the constant stress about how I’m goin ..read more

I can’t believe we’re in JUNE! Where on earth did all the time go? Although looking back at everything we’ve experienced this year already, it does seem to make a little more sense. But boy, people weren’t kidding when they said time flies once you become a parent. It’s really all about cherishing those special, little moments every day. Anyway, the arrival of  June means that it’s officially summer and so last weekend I finally decided to get out my storage boxes and dig out my summer clothes. Now if you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know that the way I pursue the capsule wardrobe ..read more

JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Packing light is something I’ve been striving to do for years, in fact ever since I started building capsule wardrobes (and I started experiencing the true benefits of minimalism) I really wanted to add that sense of getting dressed more effortlessly to travelling as well. Packing light takes the stress and guesswork out of getting dressed while you’re away. Instead of overpacking items “just in case” opt for items that you can easily transform from day-to-night and make sure you wear bulkier items wh ..read more
