We spent some time working with a partner printing ABCs and 123s today. It was so wonderful to see how the groups negotiated the work together. Some took turns, some had one person writing the capital letters and the other writing the lower case letters. Some decided that if the letter was in your name, you got to write it. There was a great deal of ABC song singing and talking about what comes next.  some people found numbers in the environment and used them as a guide to help with printing....so clever! My pictures are all out of order today....not sure why, but we will just go with it! We watched the Brooksbank bands play this afternoon. Some morning building The butterflies fluttered away this morning. We tried really hard to give everyone a chance to hold a butterfly but they were not at all cooperative (the butterflies, that is). The wind was blowing slightly and I think their wings were tickled and they wanted to fly. I just took photos of the great stuff that was happening this morning. I put out some new markers and some paper with a frame around it and the kids were inspired to create! Others were working on building a skateboard park out of blocks, working hard together. And others still were bailing tiny creations. What a wonderful way to start the day (after our Km club run). A few more W sharing items:Wookie water balloons Today we had our second ribbon ceremony (one more at the end of Km Club). Everyone earned his/her 25 ribbon and many earned their 40! Our class spent some time in grade 1 today! The kids spent the time between recess and lunch in Mrs. Batista's class while next year's kindergarteners came for a visit. We had a wonderful morning exploring the forest and the creek today at the Lynn Valley Ecology Centre. I would like to thank the 6 parents and one grandparent who drove and helped support the kids during the activities. It was so great to have you all along, we certainly couldn't have attended this field trip without you! Thank you! Here we are waiting to go inside the Ecology Centre.
