NIH plans to publish Research Opportunity Announcements (ROAs) as part of its new Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC) initiative.  NIH will be soliciting proposals for research that will improve understanding of and contribute to strategies to prevent and treat post-acute manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection across the lifespan. WFPICCS is pleased to endorse PALISI’s Global PARITY Study. This study is being conducted by the Global Health subgroup of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators (PALISI) Network to determine the burden of pediatric acute, critical illness in resource-limited settings. Eligible study sites include hospitals in resource-limited settings that care for pediatric-aged patients and have the ability to admit them to an inpatient location (ward, high-dependency unit, intensive care unit, etc.). For the first time since the establishment of WFPICCS, the President-elect is neither a physician or male.  WFPICCS is pleased to announce that the president-elect is Professor Brenda Morrow, a physiotherapist from Cape Town, South Africa.  Her presidency will start following the WFPICCS congress in Cape Town in July 2022.   Prof. Brenda Morrow is a full Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa.
