What are the best spots in Asia right now?

For context I don’t have a tefl cert yet; I’m still debating whether it’s something I want to do, but I’ve had a couple calls with an advisor from International TEFL Academy who said Thailand pays well right now but that seems to contradict things I’ve seen in this sub. I’ve been to several places in Asia including having lived in mainland China for 3 months and I’ve been to a majority of countries in SE Asia and loved it all. First, can anyone speak to the legitimacy of International TEFL Academy, or should I be looking into another program? Second, what are the best spots in Asia for an ent ..read more

Hey guys looking to get my z-visa and move to China to master my Chinese and teach a bit of English. Bit of background, I am a white 25 year old Australian Male with a double degree in Computer Science and International Business from a decent Australian University. I am looking to move to Nanning guangxi as it fits what I am looking for. I'm not too worried about finding a job, more worried about the visa process, my questions are: I am currently doing a TEFL with the online 'The TEFL Academy', this seemed like the best choice for the lowest cost as I didn't want to do a CELTA. I am now rea ..read more

I thought this was totally sealed if it happened as a minor and was completely blindsided that it's on there. It's an evading arrest charge that my probation officer told me I should have disputed in court. Am I shit out of luck? Edit: South Korea is the country I'm seeking and am in contact with a recruiter from submitted by /u/theIinhappiness [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

What's it like and what are your qualifications? I am an Aussie native, heading home soon after working at EF Chongqing. And about to start my Masters in Education in Melbourne. I know it's competitive so I would like to know realistically when it could be doable to work and live in Shanghai. Many thanks dajia ? submitted by /u/c3nna [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I’m going to Spain in October through conversaspain (I missed the deadline for nalcap) and am wondering if it’s possible to change my start date to January? I know the program offers January start dates but since I’ve already applied for October I’m thinking that this isn’t possible. But just in case I wanted to see if anyone has had any luck with this before. submitted by /u/aaudreye [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I am sure that this question has been answered a million times already, but I can't seem to find anything in a search. There are so many options and organizations to get a TEFL from. Who do you recommend going through? Are there any certifications that you've had issues with getting hired on afterwards? Are there any specific that are taken more seriously or more readily accepted? (outside of CELTA) Do the course hours make a difference? Is it situation dependent on what you want? Any other information you have For context, Spain and Seoul, Korea would be my top two picks so if there are ce ..read more

Hello just thought id make a reddit post as ive decided one thing i would like to do as a transferable skill is teach English as a foreign language; My background is English citizen, have a criminology literacy based degree and 26 so i should be a decent prospect to do this based off this. My goals are to have the option to be able to do this as a side hustle, potentially go teach in a foreign country like Spain or Thailand and even have the option of being able to just do this online and potentially even be a digital nomad. So in having a look im basically seeing that the 120 TEFL course wil ..read more
