Fall is my favorite! There’s no question about it. And so when the beginning of the school year rolls around, it comes as no surprise to anyone that I am in the mood for all things fall–layering warm sweaters, wearing suede booties, and of course leaning hard into all the warm, earthy tones of the season. I blame it on living in Texas for so long, where seasonal changes are more of a mindset than a physical reality. (Except, of course for, summer. That one exists and is very REAL. Triple digit temps in Houston are hard to forget.) Anyways, summer in Boulder, Colorado (where I live now) lasts w ..read more

Oh, hey there friends! It’s been a hot second since we last talked, so I wanted to check in with you to say hello! (I promise I haven’t forgotten about you! …or the blog ? ) A quick update on what I’ve been up to (besides not blogging ha!) over the last few months… Last time we talked, I was working on my research at the Applied Physics Lab in Maryland over the summer. And it went GREAT!! I had such a fun, fantastic, and productive time working with one of my mentors there and exploring everything that the East Coast had to offer (in terms of traveling and adventuring!) It was hard to be away ..read more

Hi, friends! Today I’m sharing one final look from my summer in Houston before jumping right into FALL on the blog. (I have so much fun content coming your way, trust me!) But for today, we’re traveling back to Kemah Boardwalk and I’m sharing a fun, nautical outfit that would be perfect for dinner on the docks, and maybe even a quick round or two at the carnival afterwards! Kemah Boardwalk is such a fun place to go! It’s right on the waterfront, so you get to watch sailboats and pontoons riding out of the marina (last seen here) and out into the waves of the ocean. And there are tons of carniv ..read more

Summer Touristing

Since becoming a NASA co-op nearly 7 years ago (and a NASA fellow 1 year ago), I have become accustomed to interning (living + working) in a new city over most of the summers since I began. As a consequence, I’ve learned to become quite the tourist of my own city on the weekends. Don’t get me wrong, being on my own every summer can be really tough, but I try to keep an open mind and view it as an opportunity to explore a new-to-me place and to really get to know the area. It’s also served as a real confidence booster since I’ve had to learn how to navigate a city on my own (literally and figur ..read more

Today I’m excited to share more photos from Kemah Boardwalk in Houston, Texas with this pretty lavender pleated maxi dress that is perfect for date night or weekend brunch with the girls. It’s no secret to those close to me that I LOVE purple. It’s easily my favorite color. Light shades…dark shades…redder tones…bluer tones, they are all beautiful to me! So it comes as no surprise that I would have fallen head over heels for this pretty lavender maxi dress that has the most magical flowy-ness when you walk. Needless to say, it makes me feel a bit like a princess when I’m wearing it. Pleated dre ..read more

Like I mentioned in this post, all this week (and next) I’ll be catching up on all my Houston posts from last summer (2016…woah!). Sorry about posting things out of order…but there are just too many good things we did not to share with you! So bare with me as I dive a little deeper into summertime here on the blog. ? Today, in particular, I’m sharing one of my favorite looks from my time in Houston–a striped summer sweater! You may remember me wearing this white sweater for the 4th of July this year, or even this black sweater tank as a part of my Summer 10×10 Challenge… Well this striped swea ..read more

Happy Friday, friends! Have any big plans for the weekend? My parents are in town visiting, so we will be getting in some hiking before it gets too cold and snowy here for the winter. But today I’m excited to share my final look in a series of photos I took at VA Beach this summer with Jennifer Carr (who is an incredible photographer and an even more incredible person if you are ever in need of pictures in the area!). Today’s post is all about taking long walks on the beach, why they are my fondest memories of summer, and what I learned most about myself from them. But first let’s talk about t ..read more

Hi, friends! It’s been a while since we last talked, but I’m so excited to be back at it on the blog after a little break for studying–qualifying exams and my first technical conference presentation. (P.S. – Both went extremely well! Thanks for all your support!) This week I’ll be focusing on all things Virginia Beach, which if you remember, is where I spent a lot of my time this summer while I was working at NASA Langley.  At any rate, I’m excited to take a little break from the snow (yes! it is currently snowing in Boulder right now!) to recap some of my favorite summer memories on the ..read more

Happy Friday, friends! Guess what day it is?! It’s DAY 10 DAY 10!! of the Summer 10×10 Challenge, which means today is the last outfit of this summer’s wardrobe remix. Today’s look was a classic with a traditional blue button-up paired with a pencil skirt for the perfect last day of work outfit. Today’s look came together pretty organically on its own. Since most of my wardrobe was packed up for the move back to Colorado (save but a few remaining pieces of my 10×10 picks), it didn’t take long to pick this sleeveless blue top (last styled here) and this pencil skirt. I knew that the day would b ..read more
