When picturing a game of international cricket in London, you’re most likely thinking of Lord’s, the capital’s centrepoint of the sport. It’s not referred to as the ‘Home Of Cricket’ for nothing, after all.
That very homely spot could be getting a swanky round of refurbishment, as it’s been revealed that the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), who own the ground, put forward an application to Westminster City Council to give Lords Cricket Ground some upgrades.

This would involve creating a number of new features for the ground, including a new roof and a top-floor ba ..read more

As a prelude to the highly awaited Record Store Day taking place all over the country this weekend, the team have partnered up with Brad Pitt’s rosé brand to offer music and wine lovers the chance to pick a mystery record to take home, and enjoy a glass of Studio by Miraval Rosé. All for less than the price of a Pret sandwich.
The pop-up takes place at Unit 11 of the Truman Brewery, right opposite Rough Trade East off Brick Lane, on Wednesday, April 17. The pop-up will be open 9am-5:30pm and is an opportunity to celebrate the simple joys of vinyl and drinking rosé on a (hopefully) sunny day. N ..read more

Listen up, Londoners: we’ve got some pretty exciting news for you. This summer, 10 Downing Street is throwing open its (usually firmly locked) garden gate, and welcoming a select few mere mortals to have a snoop around it. And here’s how you could be one of them.
As part of this year’s London Open Gardens festival, the oh-so elusive green space that hides behind the Prime Minister’s pad will be open for two (extremely exclusive) tours on June 8. Each tour will only have 24 spaces, which will be allocated by ballot. So yes, the competition is going to be pretty fierce.

When it comes to bucketlist events in the UK, Glastonbury Festival is high up the list for many. So many, in fact, that it becomes a fully-fledged battle to get your hands on tickets, with millions signing up for a chance to get their hands on one of the 200,000 spots.
It’s now just over two months to go until the weekend of the year at Worthy Farm, and the time has come for the annual spring resale, where a slither of hope is offered to those who missed out on the main sale to the festival back in November.

Everybody loves a comeback, and 318 Oxford Street is making theirs in the form of a gargantuan glow-up that will see the empty ex-department store transformed into a vibrant mixed-use development. The renovation is costing a staggering £132 million and is set to be completed in the next 12 months.
The art deco building was originally constructed in 1937, becoming House of Fraser’s flagship store in 1987 and standing as part of the row of four department stores that ran along Oxford Street. House of Fraser closed its doors in January 2022 due to the impact of the pandemic, and has been empty ev ..read more

We’ve banged on about BookBar a fair bit on this page, and for good reason. Not only is it a brilliant place to hang out with a glass of wine and chat about books, among books, but they also put on a host of thoughtful and engaging events with authors.
That theme is continuing, with BookBar just going ahead and announcing their biggest-ever event with David Nicholls, author of the beloved One Day. It’s a perfect meeting of bookish hearts, not least because One Day has been on everyone’s lips this year after the release of the Netflix adaptation (which Nicholls also executive produced).

It’s no secret that London is a pretty great city, even if it is the capital of the second most miserable country in the world. But Resonance Consultancy have confirmed the fact that it’s actually sort of alright, by naming London Europe’s best city for the second year in a row.
Every year, the consultancy company dives into over 180 European cities, looking at everything from rent prices to nightlife, TripAdvisor reviews to Facebook check-ins. And the UK capital came out on top for 12 of their 27 categories, smashing other contenders out the park.

In London’s food scene, collaborations are hardly anything new. It feels like every week there’s news of some limited-time team-up between two famed London chefs, or a special merch drop that partners up a streetwear brand with a beloved bakery. (Okay, so I made that last example up, but you can bet it’s happened – or is in the works somewhere.) Heck, there have even been multiple opportunities for Londoners to buy Greggs branded clothing from Primark… But every now and then a collaboration comes along that just absolutely blindsides us. Case in point: beloved pastel-filled dessert paradise, T ..read more
