This is a human rights issue that needs larger, longer-term and more sustainable solution. While there are positive trends, with many states doing away with the 'diaper tax’ in recent years, families are still struggling; diaper banks and community organizations are stepping in to fill a present need for so many families.

The pelvic floor plays such an important role during pregnancy - and can be impacted by the body changes brought on by pregnancy. Pelvic floor physical therapists, massage therapists, other medical providers and doulas are bringing more and more awareness to the importance of tending to pelvic floor health in the perinatal period and beyond. If you’re nursing your baby, you’ve probably heard the advice “don’t eat broccoli/beans/dairy/garlic/anything-you-really-love-to-eat, because it can cause your baby to have gas.” While there are some cases in which an allergy to specific proteins in foods you eat can impact your little one, fortunately this more general advice is one piece of folk wisdom that you can take with a grain of salt - and a side of feta - because infant gas isn’t commonly caused by the foods that you ingest.

On December 17th, Bridgetown Baby founder Merriah Fairchild, and team members Brita Johnson and Kelsey Baker, along with two cheerful teen helpers, delivered more than 50 boxes of diapers of all sizes to the Immigrant Mutual Aid Coalition’s December distribution of much needed food and household items.
