We are living in difficult times right now. The Corona Virus is everywhere and many people become ill. Many countries have advised people to stay home as much as possible. Only by staying away from each other we can slow down and eventually beat the virus. Staying at home and colour (and paint) is what I have decided to do. In the new series Colour Yourself Calm I will show you my tips and tricks. The subject of the videos are based on requests from viewers. So if there is something you want me to show you, please ask! Holly, painted with Daniel Smith watercolours For a long time I have wanted to start a nature journal, or nature diary. Nothing beats the beauty of nature and I love to draw and paint after nature. When I received a grey toned sketchbook from Arteza, I suddenly knew this grey toned paper would be a nice basis for a journal. So last autumn, I started to collect leaves, feathers, acorns, twigs, berries, ect. and started sketching, colouring and painting them. I also started to paint and draw birds that I saw around our home. Late September we went to a forested area called Drunense Duinen. It ..read more

A couple of years ago I started using affiliate links to both help you buy nice art supplies and me receiving a little bit of money (commission) each time someone uses one of my links to buy a product. The affiliate links on the Passion for Pencils website and also YouTube Channel mainly come from Amazon.com and bol.com. Although this works quite well I recently decided to make a change. With Amazon (and dutch bol.com too) it is hard to find out who is actually selling the product that I am telling you to buy. This not knowing the seller makes me feel a little bit uneasy and that ..read more

Four paintings for sale in my Etsy shop! After thinking about it for a long time, I decided to take the plunge: I am going to sell my paintings and drawings. For long I have procrastinated this decision because I was not sure if my work is good enough and how to price my work. I did a lot of research about selling art work and concluded that there are no clear directions to follow. So this will be a journey of trial and error. Today I added the first 4 paintings to my Etsy shop! No guts, no glory ..read more
